Fabulous for our family!
The house was charming and quirky and filled with character. We all fell in love with it! The bedrooms were spacious and the living space was great. We loved that the dining table had room for all 8 of us. The grounds were beautiful and the kids loved catching fish, roasting marshmallows and playing on the swing. The location was so convenient but away from the crowds. The host responded to our questions and needs promptly. We had a great stay!

Wonderful home, Great location
This was a perfect home to stay we were in Gettysburg for my Daughters wedding and the family stayed at the house. The location was so close to the venue and we got to visit the battlefields of Gettysburg. Loved that it had a fire pit and the kitchen was perfect for making meals there. Loved the old farm house feel with lots of upgrades.

Nice place for the money
Spacious property with great outdoors and fire pit. Inside the house it is older, but in good condition and sufficient room. Kitchen is very basic. owners are very responsive to any reach out for information or concerns. Overall, a good place to say when visiting Gettysburg as the large outdoors and fire pit offer great relaxation. Cheers.

Overall, this was a lovely property. Our group consisted of five adults who were all looking forward to a relaxing week. Pros and cons: Pros - Check-in was great - house was ready for an early arrival and check-in was seamless (lockbox). House and decor were so charming! Absolutely loved the little details. Kitchen was great for a weeklong stay - plenty of dishes, cookware and utensils to ensure we could easily prepare meals. Location!!!! Between the trails on the property to explore and the proximity to Historic Gettysburg, this absolutely met our needs. Cons - Beds in two of the three rooms (blue and yellow) were just not comfortable. AC units could use updating - while they did the job, they were loud and one of them (blue room) required a set of pliers to turn the knob. The pond.....we were so looking forward to using the pond for fishing, paddleboating, and just relaxing by. Unfortunately, something hit this pond that caused excessive pond scum and countless dead fish that made it unusable. This was so disappointing as it was one of the main reasons we rented this property. Overall, we enjoyed the property and think the owners do a great job with it, however, would hesitate renting again unless pond was in a better state.

Beautiful historic home
We stayed there to attend a local wedding. The house was beautiful and well maintained. The location was perfect. Nice and quiet, no close neighbors and it was easy to find where you were going. Check in/out was super easy.

Delightful Gettysburg Stay
Our stay was very nice. The house was clean and the property was lovely. Walking around the pond was very peaceful. The beds were very comfy! The only issue we had was the lock on the door. It's a little tricky and lucky for us the owner was there when we were trying to lock it. They explained how the lock should work and we had no issues after. Otherwise, it was a wonderful and enjoyable stay. We have recommended the house to others and would be happy to stay there again.

Loved this property and highly recommend. Rustic, lovely, easy kitchen, and accommodating host were big assets. Right on the edge of a Battlefield, and an easy drive into town made this a very lovely time with family. Pond in the back and paddleboat were a big hit, and the fireflies put on an amazing show (that was a bonus!). Thank you much!

We had a wonderful time in Gettysburg and our stay at the farm was awesome. If you are looking to stay at an old farm house with all the character that offers then this is your place! Every room has its own feel and helps bring a coziness to your stay. we would gladly choose this place again.

College Graduation
Our son was graduating from Gettysburg College so I needed a place for the grandparents and us to stay. This was perfect! Everyone enjoyed the solitude and the screened porch was popular for morning coffee. I especially appreciated the large dining room table where we all fit and could sit and reminisce. It was a wonderful weekend and having this “home base” was so much better than hotel rooms somewhere. Thanks for the wonderful weekend!

Birthday stay
A little late with this review, but we stayed from March 3-5 as a surprise trip for our son as he loves Gettysburg. The house itself is in a great location, close to several local areas including downtown Gettysburg. Great location for anybody wanting to tour the battlefield. The house is a lovely farmhouse with character. We were able to have a nice campfire Saturday evening, although the weather Friday and Saturday was not agreeable with wind and rain, we still had a great time and fully anticipated that the weather may not be great since we were staying in March. Overall, a great house with a nice outdoor space to enjoy and in a very good location. The road the house sits on was pretty quiet and is not a main road so cars don’t go that fast. Would recommend!

Relaxing charm and character close to the East Cavalry Battlefield
We loved this early 1900’s farmhouse! It was the perfect location for our visit to Gettysburg. Anna, the host, was so easy to contact with any questions we had and responded very quickly. The pond, barn and surrounding yard and fields were the perfect outdoor setting for being outside with coffee in the mornings or evenings. So relaxing. And the house has lots of charm character. Thank you for a wonderful place to stay.

Beautiful Country Home
We are country people and grew up and live on farms now. The outside patios and pond and porches were fabulous. The bedrooms were very nice but the bathrooms and laundry need to be much cleaner. The upstairs bathroom was very moldy and could be easily fixed. I have recaulked many an old cast iron tub in less than an hour. No need for new stuff just maintain better. I personally do not feel we should have to supply toilet paper and paper towels plus regular towels and wash cloths. When you fly in from 2 states its hard to bring a lot extra. It would have been great to provide directions to hook up the dvd player as well. The space in the house was fantastic as was the location. We would definitely rent again.

Would like to visit in the summer to take advantage of the pond and the fire pit as well as sightsee. My husband and I stayed in the Blue room and found a painting by Thelma Winter. I also have a number of her paintings. She is from a small WNY town near where we moved from. We loved our visit. he is from a small town near where we are from (Eden, NY)

Absolutely Filthy
If you want to stay in a filthy rundown farmhouse this one is for you. The walls in the bathrooms had mold around the shower and toilet. The beds were absolutely gross. No mattress covers, sheets didn’t feel clean nor did they fit the beds. The cabinets in the kitchen were disgusting ( besides being I’ll equipped) do not recommend this place. If I could submit photos I would.

Secluded but convenient
The outside property is breathtaking and secluded enough to provide quiet. The property itself is nice but can benefit from some updating, especially newer pillows and mattresses. The location is very convenient to downtown Gettysburg.

Relaxing Stay
Relaxing stay in a wonderful old farm house in Gettysburg. Our family of 8 adults had plenty of room, and really enjoyed the comfortable stay. They small pond was great for catch and release fishing, and the property was exactly as advertised. It's close to historic Gettysburg and you can walk to one of the battlefields. Check in / Check out was easy and the host communicated well.

Beautiful property - great location for experiencing G-burg while avoiding the tourist corridor. Retreating into the countryside following a day of exploring the battlefield was ideal. Fire pit was much appreciated as was the full kitchen and large dining room for meals and evening card games. Just what our extended family was in much need of!

Had a great time at this listing ...the house and grounds were pretty much as advertised....a few items could be upgraded....if you are planning to spend time indoors there is limited cable tv ...the BBQ & patio furniture need to be updated ....all in all we had a great time at this listing and considering renting it again .... if you like the early 1900’s farm house feel this is a must stay ....

We totally enjoyed our stay here. The older house had so much charm. So much room even if you had a large group. My husband loved fishing in the pond (especially catching some pretty good size bass). Also, was perfect distance from Gettysburg. Would definitely recommend.this property.

The grounds were spacious with plenty of room for four rambunctious boys to fish and play ball. We loved the museums and the historical tour. The Escape Room was also a big hit with all members of the family. Wish we would have had time to do some of the haunted tours.

Came to Gettysburg for college graduation so we needed some room in the place we were staying both in and out. This location is phenomenal. Listen to me, if you’re going to be stopping Gettysburg, schedule your trip around as to when you can stay here. Not kidding. The pictures I promise do not do it justice. Old farm house but you have all you need. If you don’t appreciate serenity and peace go to a hotel or whatever. This isn’t your place.

+Being able to stay together as a family is always better than a motel room. This space met our needs with the bedding arrangements. We were able to fish at the pond and take a paddle boat ride. The big dining room was perfect for our meals and playing the games provided in the house. Our stay was short but we packed a lot into it!

Beautiful location and such a beautiful yard. We took full advantage of the nice sunny days and fished (catch and release) in the pond, had campfires, and played yard games (croquet, horseshoes). Plenty of space to spread out in the house, and just a short drive to Gettysburg. We had a great time!

We came to run the North-South Marathon and teach the kids about Gettysburg. The property was close to the battlegrounds but still gave us peace and quite at night. We brought my father along and he was like a kid in the candy store while at Gettysburg and said the house completed the trip. We had a fire by the pond and the kids told gohst stories to finish out the trip.

This property is amazing for any and all groups. This beautiful and spacious home is accompanied by a wonderful yard that has a pond and a firepit. The location of the property is very nice because you get the space and serenity of the countryside and you are just a short drive from town. If your goal is for the walkability of Gettysburg this would not be ideal however, this place is a must stay. Counting down the days until I can return to Gettysburg and book this house again.

Perfect Farmhouse
We had a great stay in this old farmhouse. It was exceptionally clean & very comfortable. All the basics needs are covered. The location is far enough away from the traffic & noise but close enough to downtown Gettysburg & all the attractions. The property is well maintained; the fire pit & pond are the icing on the cake. I will caution, because it is an original 1800’s farmhouse, the stairs are a little steep to carry luggage, you just have to be cautious. Some bedroom doors don’t close securely. Again, it’s all part of the character of the old house & it was fine with our group but I believe worth the mention. Overall this is a great house in a nice location, perfect for a family stay.

A calming getaway.
We had a great time exploring the battlefields and museums during the day and came home to a homey farmhouse. The TV did not work when we arrived. I called Anna and she responded faster then I expected. She phoned the satellite company and was there when the tech showed up to fix the problem. I would definitely go back to the farmhouse on our next trip to Gettysburg. Thank you Anna for making our visit to Gettysburg such an enjoyable time.

Peaceful Getaway
The property was as advertised. The house was clean and comfortable, and it felt like home. My family enjoyed fishing and using the peddle boat. Sitting around the fire pit in the evenings was calm and relaxing. We would definitely return. I have no negative comments about any part of our stay.

This house is amazing! It's beautiful inside and out, its just up the rd. from all the shops on the square and the major attractions. There is a Wal-Mart close by as well as a Dollar General. The pond is stocked and the fish are hungry ( for live bait ) the paddle boat is a relaxing treat for all ages and life vest are already there for anyone to use. Its a great place for all ages!

Farmhouse living at its best!
If you are looking to find a home that gives you space to roam, enjoy nights making mountain pies by the fire, fishing in the pond or catching frogs at night, this home is that and so much more. We loved staying here!
