"The apartments are nice but the hotel is located at the junction of two mountain rivers which are very noisy. The internet said that the hotel had 24hr reception but it is only open for limited hours and closed on Tuesdays and Thursdays. The hotel swimming pool was also closed for the first part of our visit. Probably all this was incorporated into the price we paid but the advertising didn't state it."

"Very nice apartment in resort community. Beautiful pool, nice bar, and some fun activities scheduled. Greg, archery and other activity leader was friendly and welcoming. Very little food available onsite and no restaurants within less than a 15- 20 minutes walk. Nice place overall but location felt a little isolated. Highly recommend renting bikes (from resort) if not travelling by car to allow better access to community and beaches."

"Le logement aurai mérité un coup d’aspirateur avant notre arrivée pour retirer les poils de chien laissés dans toutes les pièces par les voyageurs précédents. "Location is SUPER!! overlooking Luz-Saint-Sauveur, comfortable & efficient space. clean sheets & enough linens, but you have to make the beds or pay a fee. Checking in was a bit of a hassle since we didn’t notice the front desk timing but they were thoughtful enough to send me an e mail, but still I didn’t read it! It worked at the end & big thanks to the front desk lady for her efforts to reach us. Only 2 comments I would give to the management…. Please provide soap & dishwashing detergent, & maybe consider adding a washing machine. Note: there’s no a/c so if it’s hot it could be uncomfortable"

"It was probably the nicest hotel in Amelie-les-bains, which has few operating hotels and not an especially beautiful small town in the Pyrenees. The town is full of retirees and supports elderly French people there to take the cure in the Roman baths. We appreciated the AC and the bike room at the Castel hotel. Most people stay for one night en route to another place. We stayed for 4 days using it as a base for a cycling holiday. The housekeeping is done only once a week in the rooms, and the guest laundry machines were broken so we couldn’t use them. Our studio room was small and in need of updating. There were holes in the wall that needed patching. The staff were kind and helpful. The breakfast was good. It was important to reserve for dinner since the restaurant was full every night with locals and guests bringing their dogs. They have a dog named obelisk and welcome all canines."

"Great location. Rooms were clean, staff were friendly. Don’t pay for parking as there is free parking at the bottom of the road in the big car park. The outdoor pool was so unclean. It was apparently closed which was a surprise in Sunmer and during a heatwave but we were not informed of this. There were some residents jumping into it and I’d imagine they would have been poorly next day! Although the rooms were clean, the balconies were really dirty. We can to clean the surfaces to be able to lean on them. There were no chairs to sit out which was a shame. There was space in front of the balcony which had all broken glass and an old poor towel that had been left. Not nice to look onto. Our superior double had a coffee machine but in the 3 days we were there we only got two pods and they didn’t get restock each day. Same for the bottle of water. When we asked at reception we reluctantly got a further two. Overall a good hotel with a great location. Attention to detail could be better."
