But to describe the hotel as "ski-in/ski-out" is wholly misleading. The exit/entrance involved a dangerous traverse across about 100m of sheet ice. The hotel itself recommended against using the route, instead suggesting using the free shuttle. That runs about every 90 minutes, so is basically useless. So don't stay here if you don't want to have to drive to the resort each day. The host was incredibly responsive and helpful, and the chalet itself exceeded all expectations—spotlessly clean, warm, and wonderfully comfortable. Perfect for six adults, it was fully equipped for cozy dinners in after long ski days. Despite having just one toilet, it never caused any issues, and we always had plenty of hot water for showers.The little extras made it even better: a warm, easily accessible boot room and a great selection of DVDs and games (not even mentioned in the listing!). The host’s local agent checked in on Christmas Eve, which was such a thoughtful touch.The only minor downside was the lack of parking and the icy walk from the bus stop, which might be tricky for beginners or families with young kids. For us, it was no problem—the bus stop at the bottom of Crete Cote was super convenient. Our older kids hired skis at Sport 2000 Plagne 1800 and rented a locker near the lift, making mornings and evenings stress-free. They even made a ritual of warming up by the fire at La Mine Bar for a quick drink before heading back for a cozy night in!With buses running so frequently, we won’t bother hiring a car next time. But to describe the hotel as "ski-in/ski-out" is wholly misleading. The exit/entrance involved a dangerous traverse across about 100m of sheet ice. The hotel itself recommended against using the route, instead suggesting using the free shuttle. That runs about every 90 minutes, so is basically useless. So don't stay here if you don't want to have to drive to the resort each day.
