"When we pulled into the parking lot the property looked old, not run down, but old. However the wing we were booked into was completely and very tastefully renewed and the rooms were very modern and upscale, especially for the price. I understood that the place shut down in October 2025 so that everything would look great by May 2026, and it was. I understood that more were slated to be renewed in winter 2026-27. They have an in-house concession restaurant adjacent, which we did not use. A great Greek restaurant downtown, and the Inn’s “grab and go” breakfast essentials (take back to your room since no tables in lobby) were much, much better than most free breakfasts. Shortly before we arrived I received an alert stating that there was no elevator - yikes, a bit too late if I needed one. Our ground floor rooms were very accessible and as mentioned above very nice. The registration area might be an issue if you were wheelchair bound- it is 4 steps below the entry foyer. I asked about that and was told by a very friendly registration person that the registration person would simply walk up the stairs if needed to get you checked in - but you might want to specify that you want a room on the first floor (of a recently renovated wing)! Very enjoyable stay."

"the converted church was a very fun and comfortable place to stay. The main room has been left open so you could actually host a party there with plenty of room for tables and chairs, we did feel though that it would have been nice to have a couch down there and not just the bar stools. other than that it was very clean, stocked well with appliances and linens."

"Been here 5 times clean, excellent staff and the breakfast is good. Refrigerator and microwave and coffee pot with coffee in the room is convent. Also coffee 24 hrs in the lobby Pool and hot tub very clean also the excercise equipment."

"Fish Upon a Star is fantastic. Comfortable, well appointed, quiet, beautiful setting, and super helpful host all in the shores of a gorgeous lake. We use VRBO a lot and this one is going on our favorites list! We will definitely be back! I highly recommend this place!"

"My wife and I stayed here while attending the Common Ground Fair. As far as we could tell, Neal alone orchestrated and performed all duties. He was very friendly and helpful. Our room was nice & clean and well kept. Comfortable bed! It’s a motel, so don’t expect frills. Nice grounds in back, with a seasonal pool. Trails into the woods. Quiet. Great stay. Will stay again.
