Private Whidbey Island Waterfront Beach Cabin

"Spectacular view and spectacularly quiet, but there are a couple of issues.Fantastic location, off down at the end of a private road. The beach is immediately there when you leave the house. You can walk and walk and walk through the driftwood and along a clean sandy beach. That is absolutely wonderful. Saw Mr. Rainier and a few tall Seattle buildings off in the distance. The peace and quiet is gorgeous. You can get lots of entertainment just watching dogs running around on the beach.The only way to the house is by walking up lots and lots of steps -- probably 70 or so. Steps are fine, BUT -- the first run of 11 steps, at the bottom, is charming old stones. The problem is that they are very uneven, with gaps between them, and there is no handrail. That gets tricky, especially if they're wet. It doesn't look safe, it doesn't feel safe, it isn't safe, and it is an Island County code violation (R311.7.8). I'm a handyman and it's an easy place to put handrails -- why the owners haven't done it is a mystery.From the bedroom upstairs, the view is absolutely wonderful. It is also wonderful from the living room, *IF* you're standing up or sitting on the tall stools at the kitchen counter. But the big window sits starts almost four feet off the ground floor. If you relax into the sofa, all you can see is sky and treetops. You can relax on the sofa or you can enjoy the view. You can't do both."

"I love Mutiny Bay, I wish I was still there. Going up, we stayed at the resort just a few lots south. The resort is gone, but there is two multi-million dollar homes in it's place. I spent many hours fishing from that dock over the years. Mostly with hand lines. That is the only place I wanted to retire.I do have a idea about a few grab bars and please fix the kitchen faucet. Also, I wish I could have made it to the water. The home was great, but it had too many steps up and down that I couldn't navigate safely. All in all it was a wonderful place. And the deer were a great touch. Thank you. PKH"

"What an incredible cabin! Went for a friends weekend and had a lovely, relaxing time. Quiet neighborhood, beautiful views, and very clean and comfortable inside the house. Had everything we needed. Very comfy beds and great big bathroom. Would highly recommend."

"Our second time at this spacious island home with fabulous views. We have family on the island so this spot is ideal for us to use when visiting with our children, grandchildren and 2 dogs! Very comfortable beds, pet friendly flooring and beautiful bathrooms. Thoughtful touches like a blanket to lay out on the couch for the dogs. Front yard/lawn even bigger than the fenced backyard - lovely deck with chairs to enjoy the view."
