With the ongoing impacts of COVID-19, traveling now comes with more challenges. Take a look at these valuable tips before boarding your flight to El Salvador:
- Research what, if any, rules or restrictions apply to both your origin and destination. You may not be able to travel depending on local circumstances, so don’t forget to check before you book.
- When you pass through airport checkpoints, do not remove your face mask. You will be asked to lower it briefly for identification purposes. Those who refuse to wear a mask may be fined and denied boarding.
- Avoid handing your boarding pass (paper or electronic) directly to a TSA officer. Instead, position the pass on the reader and then hold it up for inspection.
- You’re permitted to take one container of hand sanitizer up to 12 oz (350 ml) in your carry-on baggage. This will need to be taken out for X-ray screening.
- To minimize handling during screening, place items such as your phone, keys and wallet into your carry-on rather than into the bins.
- Separate any food you have for X-ray screening. Putting it in a clear plastic bag and into a bin reduces the need for a TSA agent to touch and inspect your belongings.
