Historic Hotels in Ardèche

"Tournon sur Rhone is a regular overnight stop for us. Hotel le Chateau is an old building splendidly situated overlooking the Rhone. We were a little concerned that next to the main road it might be noisy but the double (or triple?) glazing was excellent - we didn't hear any traffic. The breakfast options were outstanding. Will definitely re-book on our next trip."

"We really did love this hotel. It had a lot of character and history. The staff were so friendly and kind. The A/C was very nice and really needed since it was a 103 degrees. It was great for one night. The restaurant downstairs is excellent and highly recommend. They provide ear plugs and it is much needed. Not sure what party was going on in the hotel but very difficult to sleep through. We stayed on a Saturday so that might be why. It went on all night. The breakfast was delicious and so worth it. "

"We stopped here while travelling down to cote d'azur. It would also be a great base to explore Lyon region. Hotel just off A7 with good size comfortabke room and well equiped bathroom both spotlessly clean. Staff very friendly making you instantly feel at home. Small pool area and terrace unexpected bonus. Located in quiet residential area. Around a 10 minutes walk into town centre along banks of Rhone where there is a good selection of restaurants. Secure car park another bonus. Hotel had everything we wanted."

"A great family resort / lots of facilities & perfect for our 3 days. The staff were lovely & the apartment good. However we were not informed there were check out rules & We would need to view those rules on the hotel website. We left our apartment tidy & closed all windows & washed up & put away our breakfast items. We left our bed linen in a pile for collection but did not empty our bin. After we left we were charged Euro 50 for not abiding with the check out rules. Such a disappointment after such a lovely stay - if we had known about the rules of course we would have followed them. The hotel should have written instructions visible within the apartment. After contacting the hotel to explain we were told in no uncertain terms that we had broken the rules."
