Surf Rider House - Oregon Beach Vacations

Surf Rider House located in Depoe Bay is a four bedroom three bath home that sits directly on the ocean-front! The home features plenty of space for a group of 10 to spread out and enjoy the crashing waves. The home is two levels with the kitchen, dining, living and two bedrooms on the main level. The lower level has two bedrooms and access to the backyard.

Surf Rider House has all the amenities of a full-service resort. Guests will enjoy the benefits of the hotel next door including a full-service restaurant, swimming pool, game room and meeting rooms. Guests can also access the private beach with a short walk down the path.

This home is not pet friendly so please leave your pets at home, or make other arrangements for them.

Very dirty
This property was very disappointing. We closed the doors to the downstairs completely because there was mold and dead flies everywhere downstairs. The carpets were disgusting and it smelled like urine. there is an upstairs room with four beds, and the carpet was awful and very smelly. The dishes were greasy and looked like they had not been washed before being put in the cupboards. We left two days early because of how gross the property was. I tried to reach out privately to discuss our concerns and did not receive a reply. I would not recommend this property at all.!!

Needs much improvement
The house was extremely dirty and in dire need of repairs and upkeep. There was mold in bathrooms, ants in kitchen and most of the dishes needed to be washed before used. Also the deck was dangerous some of pickets were lose and we had a toddle I was worried could fall through. However it was a nice location and we were able to use the pool of the hotel, also the staff was extremely helpful to work with.

This property was dirty, was obviously being worked on since one of the wall heaters was in a box needing to be installed, mold in the bathrooms, torn furniture, no internet, poorly equipped kitchen, trim around doors missing, minimal seating in living area and much more. I was very disappointed considering the cost of this property.

Unacceptable !
I will first address the inaccuracy of having a 24 hour grace period with a vacancy between guests as stated on the website. That was not the case. It was an important buying decision since 5 of the 6 guests were high risk due to being over 75 years old with one currently going through chemotherapy treatments. Upon arrival we removed our shoes, as we do at home. It didn't take long to get a visual of exactly how dirty the floor and carpets were. The bottom of our socks were black with residue. We could walk around our house for days and not have that happen. NO excuse for that degree of uncleanliness. The glass table had dried food spots on it. The shower curtain in the upstairs bathroom has mildew on the bottom and the shower enclosure underneath the curtain was not clean. Otherwise, that bathroom was decent. The fan in the living room was hideous. Accumulated dirt and dust were clinging to the face of the fan and blowing in the wind like a flag. What cleaning agents don't notice that. Gunk, grime and filth were present on the floor around the refrigerator and the rails of the sliding glass doors. Multiple stains on the carpets. Generally, in every little nook and cranny there is accumulated dirt/grime that appears not to have been cleaned for months. This leads one to question the cleanliness of everything, which doesn't contribute to the comfort of your guests. We couldn't use the fireplace due to the venting of the chimney has completely eroded. The two worn chairs in the upstairs living room need to be addressed. Get new ones, re-upholster these two but do something! There have been comments in the reviews for years. Unacceptable. If I was the owner of this property, I would be embarrassed to offer it as a rental property. A desired resolution would be a reimbursement of funds given to secure this rental and to see an acceptable improvement to the property so future renters can enjoy the location and provide great memories for their friends and family. The general message the condition of this property demonstrates is you don't really care, which I'm sure is not your intention. Don, the maintenance person on property, and July, who handled our rental process, both did an exemplary job attending to our needs. Thank you both again, Theresa and Dennis

Not bad but needs improvements
This place is decent. It definitely needs some cleaning outside and in. On a positive note it was stocked well. It’s very big with a lot of room to sleep. The view is amazing. Beach access isn’t far. Furniture is a bit worn out. It has a very non-homey smell. It is outdated. Shower in master bath doesn’t drain. The gutters were hanging from the porch and in the yard so the kids had to be very careful (sharp metal) Lots of broke down stuff around the entry porch. All in all it was a place to lay our heads for the night. This home has so much potential but isn’t someplace I would stay again as it is not super inviting.

GREAT SIGHTS AND SOUNDS
Overall very good. Fantastic views and sound of the ocean. Property was clean but needs some repairs , potentially dangerous metal gutter has fallen off the front of the house and is on the ground and rusty metal trim pieces could easily cause harm. Parking is shared with hotel so we couldn't park directly next to the house. Kitchen was fully equipped and fully functional. Plenty of extra clean linens. Wifi worked even though I was told there was no wifi. Lots of tv stations. Great heat no AC. Couple of miles from depot bay with great fishing and whale watching. I would recommend this place.

Property needs to be deep cleaned more frequently. Floors were quite dirty when we arrived. Also property needs some maintenance work to improve its appearance.
