"Hotel is quite nice for an old place but could do with a bit of TLC and some modernisation. However, the room was clean and comfortable (apart from the pillows which were like flagstones 😖) and there’s plenty of parking space. I got an attic style room and if I had a pound for every time I cracked my head on a ceiling beam, I’d have about £17 by now. The WiFi is poor and slow in room 302 but gets a bit faster when you’re in the bar area 🤔. The gym facilities were pretty good and the pool looked good too. I work all over the country, usually staying in 2/3 different hotels per week, and this one achieved the UK record for the most expensive pint of soda & lime I ever encountered 😳 £6.30!!! What a rip off!!! I don’t mind paying that (or quite often more than that) for a pint of lager, but for soda water and a splash of lime cordial …. that takes the biscuit … so much so that they didn’t get another penny out of me during my stay. I’d normally stay in the hotel for dinner and a few evening drinks but any establishment will only rip me off once, so I went out to spend my (company expenses) money elsewhere instead 👍 Needless to say there will be no return visit from me. "

"Staff are always helpful and professional! Loved the complimentary waters - still and sparkling, one of the reasons why I return to this property. It might seem such a small detail, but also the Border biscuts are lovely perks to have! Property is scenic and quiet. Anemities incredable. Pur bathroom had a bath and a shower. Bed so comfortable. Anything you might need the room provides - hairdryer, ironing, etc. And parking is included which is a massive plus! Will stay here again! "

"Good stay"

"The staff were very good and evening meal and breakfast very nice. Very disappointed with the fact the key card holder said the bar opened TV12 noon on Saturday but when we asked staff they said it was not open until 3pm. We had arranged to meet friends in the bar at 12 noon so we all had to go into town before the football match which was the purpose of our stay. Maybe someone can amend the information."
