"This was a lovely old charming house in a great location—lots of space and a nice garden. One of the bedrooms and bathrooms is located on the basement/garden level and has some sewage-like odor, so sleeping in that space did not work out for us. The house was otherwise very convenient but hot since no AC was available. Unfortunately, construction in the neighborhood was happening from 7 am to 6 pm on both sides of the house, and the noise levels (73bD) were stressful. Communication was ok;...

"My wife & I and two other couples had a great stay @ this home. Communication with the owner, Fernando, was very smooth. He met us when we arrived and provided a thorough overview of the home along with providing an electronic document full of information. The home was very clean coupled with having the necessary utensils and appliances for cooking. Also loved the great shower pressure! Home is located an easy walk to the city center and very close to a metro station. Highly recommend this...

"The house had lots of spaces, which was nice for our group of 4. Everything was clean, well stocked and convenient. The rooms look fresher in the photos- we are suggesting an update in bedding would be a nice improvement as they were worn."

"This place in Gaia is great because we love to walk everywhere. We are a family of 5 with older teens. It is very close to the cables car entrance, which is great at sunset, and close to wonderful restaurants. Douro-Velho was so good that we went there twice for dinner in the short 3 nights that we stayed in Gaia. We are already planning our next trip to Portugal because we really needed more time. And we can’t wait to see it again soon. This is a great place to visit and spend a least a week."

"There's much to like about The Yellow House, with one major exception. The bed is quite comfortable, and while smallish, the quarters are comfortable as well. Wifi worked very well, and the patio is a huge plus, for relaxing in the sun (I smoke the occasional cigar, so it was very welcome. It's also very quiet except for the occasional- as in not very often- barking of the two dogs next door. They're pretty cool pooches, so it was not a problem. "Amazing 3 bedroom/2 full bath house with all the basics covered. Very clean, thanks to the housekeeping terrific service. The place is steps away from the metro, intercity trains, and an easy walk to really anywhere in Gaia and Porto (via Dom Luis I bridge, upper or lower crossing). Train station has elevators for improved accessibility (although the house itself has stairs to enter from the street to the upper deck). "This is a good property close to a lovely Atlantic beach that is good for surfing and body boarding. The property is secluded and there is a lovely pool that you share with one other property. The kitchen is sufficient for self catering and there is a supermarket close by. The location is good for exploring North Portugal, including the Lima Valley and the Miho boarder towns. The hosts are friendly and very helpful. I would recommend this property."

"The house suited our group of 4 couples very well. We appreciated having our own bathrooms. We loved picking oranges and lemons in the backyard. (Middle April) Picking oranges took some climbing, however. Also, be prepared to climb stairs in the house. Artur the host was very quick to respond to any Communication I had with him."
