The only downside was that the thermostat was locked at 65 degrees which is a little cold. We went through a lot of firewood to stay warm during the day. The master bedroom has a nice little faux fireplace space heater and was very comfortable. But the other bedrooms were a bit chilly. Overall I'd go back, but I'd ask the host if they could turn the heat up to at least 68\. ##### Leah W. The home was lovely, clean, and prepared for our arrival, and the host maintained regular contact with recommendations in preparation for some wintry weather while we were there. We felt genuinely cared for as guests. The area is nice for a remote getaway, with some options for hikes and exploring nature if weather allows, and if not, you have a beautiful home and property for some quiet R&R. Even though it was October the kids got to use the pool for two days. The hot tub was also enjoyed. Loved the fireplace. Everything was a distance but we knew that was the case. We enjoyed Fort Ticonderoga and going into VT to Rutland and Woodstock. We did the rail ride in Thurman and enjoyed timenin Lake George Village. We were there for Oktoberfest. We also enjoyed the outlets as the last stop before we left the area. It is definitely a place for relaxation and getting away from busy life. We had hoped to see some more wildlife but we were okay with the turkeys and frogs. We got to see some deer crossing the river on the rail ride. I would love to return. ##### Melissa B. Very rural, wi-fi isn’t great, 30 mins to Walmart, grocery, or a small town for a pizza. If you are looking for a gorgeous home, furnished with the best furniture, beautifully cleaned, beautifully maintained. A pool that was like bath water. And a four person hot tub that was like heaven, this place is for you. Don’t forget it’s pet friendly. Truthfully, this house is built for a large family. So much room to spread out. Pool was the perfect temperature, hot tub was relaxing, and the daily visits from deer were great. The fenced-in pool area and the front porch with swinging benches were lovely. The pool was heated and was so great to just float around in. Outdoor kitchen with a blackstone was a plus! We had a little hiccup on the last couple days with the pool heater not working, but Jean was so responsive and helpful. You can tell this family really loves their home. The best part are the little things no one thinks of- for example- pool towel were put out for us. There is a bowl of chargers that had been left at the house and instead of throwing them away, they have them in a bowl in case anyone forgot one! There are so many things to cooke with, serve with, down to the tin foil, plastic wrap, etc. The person who manages this property has done a phenomenal job at anticipating what guests may need while staying. It’s on the East side of the lake, so you’re up in the mountains and about 15 mins from lake Champlain/ Vermont. It’s a great location! Thanks from our family! But too me it worked for the best because the place was beautiful. I was more disconnected from work on this vacation then I have ever been.
