Comfortable, Quiet, and Remote Studio On A Working Ranch In Southern Arizona

10/10 Excellent
"The cottage was perfect! The location was so close to the Chiricahua National Monument that we actually came back to the cottage for lunch! The setting on a ranch was beautiful, with lots of interesting wildlife and a small outbuilding that served as a museum. They had Native American artifacts, geological specimens, settler tools and other hardware etc., all very well displayed and identified. The cottage was spacious and well equipped, with great labelling of all the drawers and cabinets. Janna and her family were very friendly but not intrusive. We had some nice talks with Jim, the patriarch and Janna's daughter even lent us some tools when our car battery began to fail, and I had to drive to Willcox to replace it. If we ever go back to the Chiricahua National Monument, this is the only place we will consider staying."

Chiricahua Bird/Sky Cabin by Cave Creek Canyon

Chiricahua Bird/Sky Cabin by Cave Creek Canyon

10/10 Excellent
"We highly recommend this listing! There’s so much to enjoy there. The location is great for birders and other nature lovers. There’s little to no light pollution, so the Night Sky is glorious. The view from the deck looks out to a garden that has been created to attract pollinators. In the near distance the Chiricahua mountains form a striking backdrop. The inside has been planned with comfort in mind for renters. The living/dining area’s futon is cozy if you want to watch the flat screen TV or read a book. You could eat a meal at the bar height table for two and you might find that you have someone watching you from the window: a hummingbird! All the needed appliances are there. We appreciated and used the washer and dryer. The bathroom has a wonderful shower that gives you options of where you want the water to come from. We enjoyed the screened-in porch, which has a lovely fireplace. We didn’t end up lighting a fire as the days were warm and the nights were too. We didn’t feel that though inside the cabin because of the mini-splits which delivered lovely cool air. We were early risers so that we could be out and about looking for birds. But if you wanted to sleep in the bedroom’s blackout curtains will help you do that. The hosts were wonderful to work with. Thoughtful without being intrusive. We appreciated the bottled water, the dining recommendations and their knowledge of the area. We hope to visit again!"

Secluded Stargazing Mecca Near Cave Creek Canyon

Secluded Stargazing Mecca Near Cave Creek Canyon

10/10 Excellent
"We loved our stay and wish we could have stayed longer. The property is excellent in all ways - everything was spotless, the living quarters and kitchen very spacious, the bedrooms perfect with very comfortable beds, and the bathrooms very good. The check-in process was seamless, communication with the host excellent, and there was a lot of information material on the area available. We especially enjoyed the quiet and fairly remote area - the dark night sky was breathtaking, and there were lots of birds on the property, perfect for us birders. We highly recommend this property and hope we can come back."
