Our room at the Furness Mansion was spotlessly clean, tricked out with everything we could imagine needing for small meals (fridge, coffee pot, coffee, a few plates/bowls/utensils), a bidet!, well-appointed bathroom and shower, and comfy beds and linens. We loved being close to the Dunes National Park. A lovely place to stay for an evening or two.

This was an absolute gem of a find! We stopped in for one night on our way to Milwaukee. It was very clean, welcoming, comfortable beds and had everything we needed. It was nice to have the laundry available! Super easy check-in and out. Great location. Close to Cuyahoga National Park!

My family LOVED the Furness Mansion. It was such a comfortable stay, the owners were so accommodating and kind. The location is beautiful, the home was beautiful and we were all comfortable.

The place had a great vibe, and we really enjoyed our stay. It was clean, and the room was spacious and comfortable. We had a comfortable stay at the Furness Mansion. Very close to Indiana Dunes National Park and also nearby points of interest. The unit is spacious with free use of washer & dryer located at the entrance of the building. The only thing negative is the response time from the hosts. I sent a couple of messages and never received a response. My inquiries were not critical but a simple response would have been nice as a courtesy.

Darling building in good location. This right on freeway and train line though. It was clean but one big found in bed- pantry beetle- not bed bugs. Nice heated bidet in bathroom. Reasonable price. Could be really great with good mattresses, linens and antique furnishings and paintings. It is such a cute house.

This was the first property I had stayed in that had a bidet and a heated towel bin, and a massage chair. Let me start by saying everything was lovely and the “Superior suite” accommodations worked out for my husband, son and myself. However, the advertisement for the accommodations on Expedia is incorrect. It states that there are three beds including a king, full, and sofa bed. In reality, there was only a king with a twin daybed in the same room. There was no sofa bed, and in fact, no sofa. Instead of a sofa, they had a reclining loveseat that was missing a cord or broken. I like attention to detail, and they need to work on the landscaping as the grass had been mowed when it was allowed to get too tall, and there’s a lot of weeds and trees allowed to grow out of control. The neighboring yards looked much better. Some of the flowerbeds however were beautiful.

The Furness Mansion was lovely! First thing I noticed when I walked it was how good it smelled and how clean it was. Our room was the same. We stayed with our young kids after visiting the Dunes. Little noise from the road out front but not terrible. Comfortable, quaint stay! Would stay again.

Stumbled on this gem when we were camping and severe weather was predicted. We decided to leave our little camper and get a room with AC and more secure building. This popped up on Hotels.com. At first I was a little shy of it, afraid it might be like a B&B where we once stayed that was a bit noisy. Turns out it was delightfully quiet. We did hear the commuter train horn a few times but it didn’t bother us overnight. Check in was different. No front desk. The maid called the owners who told her our room numbers. If we had reserved 24 hours ahead of time we would have received an email with the information we needed. Instead, I called the phone number on the reservation. The owner sent me a text with all the numbers we needed for the keyless doors. Worked smoothly. We even extended our stay one extra night

A unique place - make memories you will treasure!

Just a lovely place to stay with family. So many nice details and amenities including a fire pit outside which was a great place to hang out. We stayed in the family suite and the kitchenette came fully stocked with what we needed — there were even coffee filters! We felt right at home and we will definitely be coming back.

Dog Friendly area, great property

This is a great property, very nice rooms, appreciated the details. Also it really is right on the edge of the National Park but also very close to town. We stayed with our two dogs and found the area very dog-friendly. The property was like staying at a B&B without the on-site service. There is no front desk, so do pay attention to the info about contacting them for very easy access information once you book.
