It is also located right next to a noise highway, so you hear cars and noisy public transport at all times. The steps to climb are steep but there are many staff available to help you carry your luggage. The room was small but it didn't matter because we much preferred to spend our time exploring the property. The dinner was delicious and we also loved swimming in the lake. I cannot preface enough that this hotel is a MUST stay when visiting Lake Atitlan, even if just for one night. It was not only a place to stay it provided an experience we will never forget. First of all if you dont appreciate History or architecture go somewhere else this one is not for you. Others that do step in to Mayan inn to take a beautiful walk in the past. The room was elegant, the pieces of furniture exquisite 👌. The plumbing was a little bit lacking but the water was hot. I really appreciate how hard they have worked to keep the original character of the hotel. Our room had an open fire ready to go. Having a fire in the elegant room last night felt like i was magicaly transported to the 1930s. I hope others can experience this magic as well.
