"Greyfriars is fantastically located but the property is quite tired. The shower was hand held over a bath. The “parking” is a garage a quarter of a mile away and quite expensive. However Sanjeewa was the nicest and most helpful person ever. Nothing too much trouble! 5 stars for him. "

"We stayed here for one night over the weekend, a pretty little property around 30 minutes walk from central Canterbury. This wasn't too much of an issue as we are happy to walk but it was further than anticipated. We slept so well in the soft bed and liked our little room. When we arrived however there was a brown stain in the toilet and although we flushed it a few times, it would always come back which suggests plumping needs a look at. Says 4 rooms on website but there are 6 and they are all really close together. We were woken up by a toddler scream and crying at 7am outside our door. Breakfast was subpar to be honest - our bowls and plates were a little dirty and crispy as hadnt been cleaned properly. Breakfast is advertised as continental so we were expecting some cheese cold meats for our bread but there was just toast, marmite and butter etc, cereal and some mixed fruit. Overall, nice property, friendly staff, comfy beds but hygiene could be improved as could breakfast. "

"Plenty of off road parking and felt very secure! Breakfast choices were excellent and all the hot food was cooked to order! Ate in the restaurant (evening meal) and that was also fresh and really tasty! Room was a great size and would definitely return!"

"A fantastic location with a large very clean bedroom. The bathroom was small but good with an enthusiastic shower. Normal coffee and tea making facility. My only complaint was the bed was rather small for two people. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. Is definitely stay here again. "

"Small single room, nicely decorated and simply furnished. Fabulous view of the cathedral. The place is clean and quiet, I loved it and when I can afford it I will definitely stay again. The reception staff were lovely and very helpful. The breakfast was also really nice and the dining room is very calm and comfortable. One little niggle, the shower was very small and not very powerful. "
