"Stayed here on a visit to Wigtown in late August 2026. Communication was great with multiple emails confirming reservation and instructions. Although there are no staff of duty the instructions on how to get the key were timely and detailed and we had no problems at all getting in and checking out, and we arrived late. "Didn't have breakfast as it was £15 so we had yoghurts in the room. Was disappointed that the gym was £10 per person and this was not mentioned at the time of booking. Given that this was the reason I booked the hotel, I was a bit annoyed. Probably won't be back. Food was good and staff were lovely."

"When we arrived at the hotel it didn't look anything special from the outside. On entering into the small reception we received a very warm welcome and given some local information. We were directed to our room which was very spacious, clean and a nice outlook . The bed was very comfortable although I found the room warm but my husband slept right through the night, which is unusual for him. We opted to have dinner in the hotel and although a bit pricy we were very happy with what we ordered. A very pleasant stay and I would definitely return"

"This is a beautiful cottage, in a stunning location. The cottage is so comfortable and well equipped and beautifully decorated. Especially loved the window seats along one side of the house to take in the amazing view.Just a short 5 minute walk down to Dhoon Bay and a 10 minute drive to Kirkcudbright. We were lucky enough to be staying over the August Bank Holiday weekend so we could attend the amazing floodlit Tattoo and Fireworks event. And it's a very pretty town with a lot of interesting history.The gorgeous coastal villages of Kippford and Rockcliffe are a bit further away by car but well worth the visit, and there are lots of other walks in the area too.Thanks very much Moira, for a wonderful stay. We highly recommend."

"Fabulous property - luxurious and well appointed, great hosts who were friendly and welcoming. The house is ideally situated in Wigtown so right by some lovely pubs, bookshops and nice areas for walking. We were a group of 6 adults and 4 young children (and a dog) and it perfectly suited our needs - plenty of space and ideal for a group get together. We can’t wait to return!"
