Very cute and comfy. The staff was sweet and helpful. The front entry is marked with a small sign that's easy to miss on first glance and there are lots of stairs to climb.

I love this hostel. I ended up having the room by myself. I like the way how they designed the hostel. The receptionist that helped me check in is Anita. Very nice lady Close to everything.

Lavender Circus loveliest hostel
Fabulous Hostel in a great location. The decor is very unique and the staff were all so friendly and helpful. Being an older couple newish to hostels, it's always a little worrying what you arrive to..... But Lavender Circus 🎪❤️ you were fantastic in every way. Absolutely adored our stay here. Thank you!

Absolutely fantastic stay with a great and friendly staff! The location for the price can't be beaten, I would absolutely stay again for my next trip to Budapest! Such wonderful charm.

This hotel is decorated in such a fun and interesting way. The room was very comfortable and spacious. The only downside is there is no lift, and quite a lot of stairs.

Great location, easy check in
This is a nice no frills hostel, the desk people are nice and friendly. The decor is cool. Others have noted that it’s a third floor walk up and the walk up isn’t lit, I didn’t think that was too bad at all, you have some light from the street so it’s not pitch dark by any means. Good location and close to all transportation. Not shabby by any means but definitely no frills, I would say if it’s a deal for you at the time of booking then do it. Only thing is that the private rooms don’t have an option for a private bathroom, only the larger apartments have that option.

It was a nice clean place in a good location. However, staff were nowhere to be found. The hostel is top floor as well so there are many steps so be prepared for that. The window in our room was covered by a curtain way too small so people could easily look in. Overall, the place is ok. Probably wouldn't stay again.

Quirky Amazing Apartments!
We stayed in one of their Apartments which isn’t in the same location as the hostel. The Apartment is amazing! We had a double bed up in a little ceiling hideout and a single bed in the living room area, these are super cute apartments and are full of character like you’ve not seen. The location is near the train station, metro, Tesco, Mcdonalds etc. Easily walkable to the sights like Budapest eye, Shoes on the Danube, parliament etc. Would absolutely recommend anyone stays here, very secure building too. I stayed there with my two children 14 & 17. The staff were so friendly checking us in and storing our cases at the hostel when we checked out from the apartment. They provide a hairdryer, microwave, fridge. Please stay here and you’ll love it!

Great stay at a great price
Lovely quirky room with hand painted designs on the walls. Our 11 year old liked his loft style bed and it gave him some privacy. Pros: Quirky individual style Great price Good location Close by to most places and plenty of food options Comfy bed with great smelling laundry Quiet It felt safe (four lockable doors between street and our room) Pleasant staff (even when checking in at 2am!) Plenty of hot water Shared amenities such as kettle / microwave in a shared room Cons: Pillows weren’t great Only one towel per person, per stay Three flights of stairs and no lift - not an issue for us but it might be if you have mobility issues. All in all, I’d thoroughly recommend and would definitely stay again.

Best 'Hostel' in Budapest!
Located in a very central location, it was perfect for visiting Budapest. The only downfall was that there were no elevators (those with large heavy bags, please take note). We travelled light so the stairs were not a problem. Staff were very friendly and even allowed for late check out when the place was not busy.

Amazing “off the wall apartment,” very clean, staff very helpful and friendly, all what we needed for a 3 night visit in Budapest. Perfect location 20 minute walk from central of city. Found the mezzanine floor bedroom arrangement a little uncomfortable, but hey we are in our 70’s, but apart from that it was great.

Beautiful building, lovely staff
We stayed in a private room with a shared bathroom. The room and the shared areas of the hostel were beautifully decorated and clean. The facilities were adequate and there was milk and equipment to make my morning cup of tea. The only downside is the mammoth trek to the top of the stairs each time. There is no lift but you feel the rewards from your surroundings when you get there. The staff were friendly and helpful if we needed it. I would definitely stay there again and recommend it to others.

We stayed here for 3 nights and we enjoyed our stay a lot! Friendly staff, convenient location, close to public transportation and walkable to the river bank and other landmarks. Things to consider if you are planning to stay here: Travel Light and make sure you have no problems with walking up & down the stairs. The hostel is on 4th floor!

We have stayed in one of the exclusive apartments. The location of the apartments is not the same as the hostel which can be a bit confusing, but it's a good location nonetheless. Overall the apartment is nice and cosy. It's clean and comfortable. Only downside is that we got an apartment without an AC so best to ask in advance and guarantee one which has AC (my understanding is that some apartments have AC while others don't). Make sure you have your own shampoo and conditioner because it was not supplied even though the description says "free toiletries". Liquid soap was available. This was a good last minute deal for use and I'd recommend this type of room to others (if the weather is nice then the AC is not a big deal).

Three days in Lavender
The 'hostel' was as great as the reviews. Not your traditional hostel as we got a private room but we had a kitchen w/o a stove, spacious room and bathroom all steps away from the metro. You couldn't get a better location/price ratio for Budapest. The only down side was no air conditioning in the room tho they did have two fans to circulate the air! For touring the city this is a great option for travelers on a budget!

The hostel was a bit of a shock. The photos may be old and definitely not of the apartment we stayed at. The location is ok. We had to go up 3 flights of stairs to reach reception, which was ok, but there are security gates on each floor, which gives you a bit of nervousness. Ana was SUPER friendly and helpful every time we asked for help. However, the apartment was a bit run down and it was difficult for us to shower properly in the bathtub. The fans provided were a lifesaver. Our experience was just ok. I dont understand how the property earned 4.9 reviews and "outstanding" designation. It is ok if you're on a tight budget, but it was definitely the most disappointing lodging during our 18 night vacation.

Friendly service, excellent location, and above almost all else for me, **quiet** environment. I was amazed and glad to have an entire room to myself, rather than a bunk room. I almost never saw another soul, although everyone who came and went was quiet and respectful at whatever hour. Tremendously glad to be in an "adult" hostel. My only suggestion would be to install a wall mount for the hand shower in the hall bath.

Great hostel, spacious, quiet and friendly
We stayed in one of their apartments, it was very spacious warm and comfortable. The staff were exceptionally welcoming and were quick to give recommendations around town. Hostel was quiet and close to the underground, as well as an easy walk to popular districts.

A hidden Gem
My Wife and I absolutely loved our stay in this Hostel. From the moment we arrived we were made to feel incredibly welcome and received a personal facilities walk through and a local itinerary run through all over a freshly brewed cup of coffee. To say this place is unique would be an understatement - just look at the images of the place, there really is no where else like it. Location was excellent with the town centre and tourist attractions all within walking distance and local food and drink establishments just a street or so away.
