The staff were good. The room a little old fashioned and the bathroom needed an update. However everything was clean. It was great to stay in a hotel where they have fresh milk and water available for all guests in the machines along the hallway :) I think the spa was very busy and not enough loungers.

Staff were really friendly, rooms were lovely, spa good too, unexpected snow yesterday but fair play to the staff for making sure we could get in and out by foot and cars 10-10👏 will defiantly will be visiting again 👍

Loved the milk and water machines available to fill your own. Good size pool but very annoying that you have to pay extra to use it! I’ve never experienced this in a hotel before and was the main reason we booked it. Plus they added £10 extra to the advertised price as prices had apparently just increased!! Then when we got to the pool (which has a 3 hour window for children to use in evening) we were told they were at capacity and we had to wait around 15-20 minutes. It looked like there was plenty of room but we were told x31 was the limit. If that’s the case I think a booking system needs to be implemented…there were quite a few people waiting to access. Good breakfast

While this hotel is wonderful - please be advised if booking through hotels.com or any other booking agent, the pool use is not included and is chargeable at £10 per person. It is only free if you book direct with the hotel. This would be my only real complaint as guests shouldn’t be discriminated against for their choice of booking platform.

Beware - Price does not include Pool use!
Beware! There has been a change in policy. Apparently if you book this hotel via Expedia/Hotels.com you cannot use the pool without an extra charge. Nowhere on the booking does it state this. I have stayed in this hotel many times and this policy is new. My family and I went to the pool and were refused entry, they then made me go to reception to sort it out, reception tried to charge me £30 which I refused.

A Mixed Bag
A mixed experience. Parts of the hotel are tired, and there are dead flies in the lampshades in the bar. The food is good, and the reception was very good, but evening room service wasn’t answered for 30 minutes then when it was I was told I couldn’t be served as they couldn’t take payment. Paying extra for the spa seems a bit much when you’ve already paid for a room.

It was a freezing weekend and so was the hotel. The aircon/ heating system didn’t work. We were so cold we couldn’t face going for a swim. Even the jacuzzi was luke warm. The bed was small and a bit too firm for me. Everything else in the hotel was perfect. Attention to detail impressive.

We stayed overnight at aztec Hotel spa for my birthday our stay was enjoyable the room was elegant very clean i must add the facilities/jacuzzi, steam room, sauna was very relaxing the following morning we had breakfast at the curiouse kitchen it was lovely but only one fault i found they got breakfast order wrong by including mushroom which i specified before no to .but i would definitely return

Dusty room. Spa treatment room had a damp wall and flaking plaster - Health? Poor breakfast service - waited 45 mins for food to be delivered. Offered toast while I waited. At £20 a breakfast, I didn't want to fill up on toast.

Superb room Terrible bar staff - waited 25 minutes to get served having told it was table service and couldn’t get served from bar. In the end went to bar and served immediately. Otherwise great stay

The hotel is looking dated The restaurant couldn’t accommodate me on my stay even though I’d emailed as requested to book a table and got the reply back saying fully booked sorry on the day on my stay I would say it’s possibly a 3 star hotel at a push Staff were friendly enough

Hotel generally very good, staff all friendly and efficient. Wasn't overly impressed with evening meal, pricey and no where near as good as I remember it. Having to order all aspects of breakfast is a bit odd too.

Beds were absolutely awful my back is still in half. Paid £25 to use the pool which should be included in the price considering I paid £155 for my stay and couldn't even use the facilities which upset my children massively. The walls were paper thin and I could hear everything going on in the other rooms had around 4 hours sleep and got out of there as soon as we could

The hotel is lovely. The spa was super busy with families and extremely young children in the hot tub. As for the breakfast avoid it at all costs. Not sure how you ruin a croissant I have no idea but they did, and as for the coffee I wouldn’t even bother. Restaurant evening Meeks are hit and miss the pie was great the rest was poor for the price.
