Castle Trosky, Český ráj, Czech republic

Trosky is a castle ruin located some 10 km south of Semily, Liberec Region in a natural reservation region called Český ráj (=Bohemian paradise) making a landmark of jt. It is one of the most famous Czech castles and is situated on the summits of two basalt volcanic plugs. On the lower peak (47 m) is the two-storey structure called Baba (Old Woman), and on the higher outcrop (57 m) is the four-sided structure known as Panna (Virgin, in the picture). 
It was built in 1380 and was used for a century. It is a ruin since 1648 when it was burned down during the Thirty years war. « Hôtel plaisant situé dans la nature mais proche de la ville de Liberec . Chambre spacieuse et confortable . Tout le personnel est extrêmement agréable. Le restaurant est un très bon rapport qualité prix , cuisine tchèque .Les serveurs parlent anglais ( et meme quelques mots de français pour l'un d'eux ) , ils sont particulièrement sympathiques , expliquent les plats et conseillent si on le souhaite . Stationnement au pied de l'hôtel. Nous avons passé un excellent séjour . »

« Belle découverte que ce charmant hôtel au centre de cette belle ville de Jicin, qui gagne à être connue puisque qu’elle n’est même pas dans le guide du routard. Cette ville se trouve à un jet de pierre de la formidable promenade des Prachovske Skaly, on peut donc vider la voiture à l’hôtel avant de partir en randonnée. Ouvert depuis 50 ans, cet hôtel semble récemment réhabilité. Il fait neuf, moderne et très smart. Il est confortable et très bien équipé. Vous serez accueillis par une équipe de...

« I've probably never seen such a tidy, nicely smelling and absolutely neat and mint hotel room :-) Also the staff was extremely and un-Czechly nice: the couple of owners personally serving breakfast and being polite and courteous! Very easy access at late arrival. The only negative point: the hotel garden was locked, I would have liked to visit it... »
