"I was at Haven, formerly Hotel Schmidt-Monique in Bochum for 8-days. I arrived 25-minutes before the “official” check-in time and was told I could check-in early for €20\. Needless to say I waited the 25 minutes. The new owners are focussing on the hotel so the restaurant that was originally part of the hotel complex is currently closed. "Stayed for 1 night Pros: clean, simple, comes with kitchenette Fairly quiet with the windows closed Affordable :) Easy check-in (mobile) Cons: Elevator - the first elevator coming in from the garage didn’t work or was turned off when we arrived late at night, took quite a bit of searching to discover there is another one just down the hall and around the corner. Some signs would been been very helpful! Lint - I love that there’s a laundry room in the hotel, but the dryers were full of lint to the point it’s a serious fire hazard. No signs asking people to remove lint, no bins for the lint. All in all I love the concept of the staffless hotels , but it could use some fine tuning. "
