I felt like I'd come home. The property is stunning with mountain views and a duck pond. The room was lovely. The common area was cozy and a wonderful place to unwind. A mini oasis. Mel was amazing. Hostess with the most-est. She suggested we do an early breakfast to get to Hooker Valley Trail early and she was so right for that! Rooms were immaculate. Refreshments and breakfast were immaculate. Only one long dining table for 10 and wonder how it qualifies as a lodge! Only 5 rooms and breakfast from 8 am to 9 am!!! No fridge nor even kettle plus! Checkout is at 10 am and a loud knock on the door to confirm; hardly hospitable act let alone service. Over priced at NZ$500 per nite! Highly recommend staying here. We stayed for 3 nights and the proximity to Mt Cook area was excellent (about 45 mins). The lodge was peaceful and included a lovely breakfast. Plenty of space to relax in the large lounge room in the lodge. Excellent breakfast - all home made. Rooms were spacious and bed extremely comfortable. Bathroom furniture could do with a refurb. The outstanding feature were the positive energies of the hosts (Libby and Geoff).
