Hotel Figueroa, Unbound Collection by Hyatt

Hotel Figueroa, Unbound Collection by Hyatt

8/10 Good
"I really enjoyed my stay at this hotel. The building is beautiful and has a lot of character, and the central location makes it convenient for exploring Los Angeles. My room was one of the highlights. It was spacious, clean, nicely decorated, and very quiet. There was a separate sitting area with a couch and chair in addition to the sleeping area, and the bathroom was also quite large. The bed was extremely comfortable, which made for a very pleasant stay. The staff were friendly, professional, and helpful. I did have a few issues with my room when I arrived, but they were addressed and repaired quickly, and I was compensated for the inconvenience, which I appreciated. There are a couple of things worth mentioning about the location. There are a lot of unhoused individuals in the surrounding area, and I did not feel particularly comfortable walking around outside after dark. I would recommend being mindful of this if you plan to walk around the neighborhood in the evening. I did not eat at the hotel, but I did have one glass of wine at the bar. At $25 for a glass, I felt it was quite expensive for what was served, particularly with an automatic 20% gratuity added to the bill. Overall, I really liked the hotel itself. The historic character, spacious and comfortable rooms, quiet atmosphere, and excellent staff were all positives. The surrounding area is the main drawback for me, particularly after dark. Despite that, I would stay here again."
