Built on the sea, the translation of the verse of the quran which proclaims the throne of god was built on the water. The mosque is a truly marvellous piece of architecture. A huge monument, it can accommodate 25,000 worshipers inside and another 80,000 outside. The founder, King Hassan ll, wished that the city be endowed with a large and beautiful building of which it can be proud Until the end of time. The most exquisite examples of Moroccan mosque craftsmanship are the zellij coverings, some models over 10 metres high. The mosque is one of the largest in the world.
Quartier Habous
  • 30m
Well here you will spend most of the time, plenty of traditional shops around. The decor is so captivating that you don't feel the time passing. The village built with all the conveniences that local Moroccans would need, it was above all intended to welcome new inhabitants coming from different regions of the kingdom. It has all the necessary facilities that the inhabitants will need, namely mosques, a community oven, houses and of course the majestic palace. The subtle blend between French architecture and Moorish style is truly impressive. However, due to these characteristics, the village ended up attracting wealthy businessmen, which explains the number of shops owned by wealthy Fez residents.
