“Clean hotel convenient for St Marks”
Stayed 1 night pre cruise & 2 nights post cruise. Pre cruise, we had room 5 - small and view of a wall so very little daylight. Asked to be moved, but hotel full. Promised a different room for the 2 night stay. Got room 10 post cruise which was bigger and lighter - much better. Rooms in central Venice are small so natural light is important! The furnishings in the hotel are very good and beds comfortable. Air conditioning units are very efficient. Breakfast was a very good continental breakfast - cereals, juices, pastries, meats, cheeses, yoghourts, cake, hot drinks. This is served on roof terrace in good weather and the server is very efficient. Ask for cafe latte and you get a pot of coffee and jug of hot milk that is enough for 4 cups! Front desk: one man stands out as superb. We didnt get his name, but he has dark hair and a moustache. He checked us in on our post cruise visit, carried our cases to our room and carried our cases out on our check out. This was very much appreciated as there are 30 steps down from reception to the street and there is no lift. He would not accept a tip at all. However, there was one young man who was on reception on Sunday afternoon who when we asked for a hot drink at the bar just said the machine was off. As we had just been caught in a heavy downpour, we were somewhat disappointed with his attitude. Would I stay again? Definitely, as long as I didnt get room 5!
“Venice!”
This was the first city in our Italy vacation with our two adult daughters (21 & 23). What a great start! The staff was helpful, the location great, and the city beautiful. I would recommend this to my best friend. In fact I did!
“great location in Venice, Italy”
This is a small hotel, conveniently located off San Marco Square. It was very clean and the breakfast was good. We did the prepaid rate, which was a great bargain. The night staff did not speak English very well, though. Don't bother with the "free" Murano tour, since it is a one-way taxi ride design to pressure you into buying glass at one of the Murano factories.
“Great location.”
When traveling to Venice, you should ALWAYS PACK LIGHT! If you don't, the stairs getting up to the San Galo will be a challenge (as will be getting anywhere else in Venice). The gentleman at the front desk helped carry luggage for those in our party who did not follow the above advice though. Front desk staff was very helpful. Breakfast was nice European style breakfast with real cappuccino. Rooms varied from quite large to quite small for our diverse group of travelers. The location is hard to beat for the price.
“Great Location”
Great spot close to where we wanted to be. Very comfortable room.
“Great hotel, a little far from the water taxi”
My mom and I stayed at this hotel for only 1 night. It was comfortable and clean but a little far from the public water taxi and over 1 footbridge with a bunch of steps which made it hard for toting around suitcases. The hotel staff did carry our bags up and down the 38 stairs to/from the ground floor which was great. And they offered a private water taxi to Murano with a free tour of a glass factory. We had to take the public taxi back but it was well worth it! :)
“Quaint , very clean, inexpensive, and has all you need for the typical traveler.”
This hotel was surprisingly easy to find in Venice (with the help of an online map). It is a quaint, inexpensive, and also a very clean hotel. Everything nicely decorated. Lights were a bit dim, but I think it adds to the old-fashioned ambiance. Rooms were neatly made and stocked. All basic amenities were available in the hotel and rooms. Front desk easily pulled up our reservation. Staff very friendly and helpful (and spoke English). Location of hotel was also extremely convenient. Located at St. Mark's Square in the middle of all the great shops and restaurants. We definitely recommend this hotel!
“très bien situé - à quelques pas de la place Saint-Marc”
Personnel et service de qualité. Hotel de charme très bien situé par rapport à la place Saint-Marc mais aussi aux autres lieux et évènements (RIALTO, ACCADEMIA, Spectacle CARNIVAL à VENISE...)
“Ideal Location”
This hotel was really easy to find, right behind St Marc's square at the far end 2nd to last exit. The position could'nt have been better. The rooms are small, but perfectly comfortable and very clean. Breakfast although not hot is very adequate everything is there for you. The staff are very friendly and so helpful. Venice is very expensive but if you go a couple of streets behind the main attractions there are loads of cheaper outlets. This hotel has a terrace so there's nothing stopping anyone from buying anything and a bottle of wine and eating up their. Would definately stay there again
“Convenient Location”
Convenient to local attractions and restaurants. Overall a nice room - the double was a bit small but the triple was fine. Staff very nice and accommodating.

Area:
San Marco, Venice, Italy: San Marco (St Marks) is quintessential visitors Venice. The Piazza San Marco, famous for its pigeons, campanile, basilica, Palazzo Ducale (Doges Palace) and expensive cafes, is unmissable. The waterfront views are legendary and more gondolas depart from here than anywhere else in the city. In season the Piazza teems with day trippers though just a block or two away streets are quiet and offer more museums and palaces to explore.
