Upon arrival for a 5 night stay to celebrate my daughter’s birthday we were super excited but that started changing rapidly. There is no sort of ventilation, even fans, in shared spaces such as the reception and restaurants. The food in the buffet was really bad and constantly with flies on it. Towels were not replaced unless you called for it, bathroom shower dirty…just disappointed.

The room I had previously booked for our stay wasn’t available. They just apologies and said they will refund the money for the room that we previously booked. Most of the resort staff are not friendly as I expected, The refrigerator in the room was old and did not work well and the air conditioning did not work well either, the room had ants and the sliding door of the balcony was difficult to open and there was no lock on it, there was no ice available and we asked the staff and they informed us that if we wanted ice we had to ask the bar staff for it.

I booked this trip in January. I booked two ocean view deluxe they gave me one room and one building the other room at the end of the resort and the other building totally opposite when I approached them and asked them that I did request two rooms together that I even called three times Prior to my arrival that the rooms are next to each other or at least on the same building at that moment they were when I was checking in. I’m told them all that they told me there’s nothing they could do. I want to speak to the manager, and the manager refused to come out from the background , that is not customer service that’s rude respectful they actually gave me an attitude that I was wrong not acceptable. I will never go back again. Love you so otherwise it’s OK. But the island as an island is gorgeous. Please one of my rooms was facing the parking space. When i went back down to ask them they said that was there ocean view delux

no ac in sun club room and entire bld. lied to about it. took 2 days of several hours arguing with the manager to get moved. finally was moved to the worst bld. on the resort. had ants in the bathroom and in the bed. food was sub par in the buffet and the same daily. The best thing was the beach it was a beautiful beach. the resort needs to be upgraded.

Review for American’s seeking a fact based view on this property. Food: think prison food at the food hall “the yard”. The hibachi is in an area where birds can poop on the grill. The sushi was tuna salad in rice, carrot in rice, and a mystery fish in rice. Drinks: Super weak. We drank for multiple days and never got a buzz. They often are out of products or never had them to begin with ie: no lime, no olive juice, sometimes even don’t have common supplies like wine at the bar. Staff: some were very nice, but the general rule was rude. You feel bad asking for even water. We had to wait an extra hour to get into our hotel. Amenities: the beach is actually nice and pool was not bad. The hotel room we had was spacious (not a sun club member). We heard other people (to include sun club members did not have AC in their rooms). Overall: We ended up leaving our 7-day stay early and going to another local hotel. While our experiences at Sunscape was soured, Curacao has some incredible beautiful beaches, people, and culture. We had a fantastic time snorkeling, driving to beaches, and indulging in proper cocktails.

The property needs updating and a lot of work. Our first room was in bldg 8 which the air conditioning didn’t work. For 3 days we were told by management that it would be fixed that day. The third night it was 85° felt like 92 with the humidity. Talked to Angie, the supervisor on duty, and she repeatedly told me it was fixed and working. She basically called me a liar. After telling her everything else wrong with our Sun Club room (drawer knobs falling off the dresser, only one of two shower doors, the gap in our door and no air conditioning) and demanding compensation and a different room, we were finally given a different room at 8:30 that evening. Unlike management, all the other staff The excellent customer service. The food was just okay. The rooms were clean but needed updating. The beach, water, and view were great. This was my second stay at a Sunscape Resort. They both are in badly need for updates. I will not stay in one of their resorts again.

Everyone was soooo friendly, I felt so safe at this resort! It’s not completely modern but it’s still clean and comfy and they don’t try to overcharge. I would definitely stay here again !
