We stayed in this hotel for a trip for Universal Studios and we did like it since its about 10 min apart. However, the hotel seems to be remodeled on on side but, I think there are certain things that still need to be replaced. The metal parts in the bathroom where kind of rusty and even the sprinklers in case of a fire emergency were rusty and probably have never been replaced. Still the price was fair for what we got but, the pictures of the room and bathroom elevated my expectations. The TV is kind of old and very tricky, you need to use your own Netflix and other streaming platforms. On a previous trip to Universal I had stayed in the Burbank hotel which is runned by the same owners of this hotel, yet both do seem have differences, I expected both to look alike. Staff was very kind, polite and friendly.

My pregnant wife and I were locked out of our room for over 3 hours, and our elderly dog was locked in our room for over 3 hours. Staff was unable to unlock our door, even with the “managers key”. We had to wait for maintenance to arrive and they we unable to unlock our door. Maintenance had to kick down the adjoining room door to allow us access to our room. Then a new key couldn’t be give to us, so one person had to stay in the room to let the other in for the remainder of our stay. No room transfer was offered and no refund was given. A partial discount on our stay and a free sprite was all we received for compensation. This was all very unacceptable and the customer service we received was not service at all, more of an annoyance. We will unfortunately never stay here again
