"Really great place! I have stayed in other hotels on/near Fremont and their history shows in lack of updates. This hotel was totally different. We had a great room, with a great view. They even had a white noise machine in the room which made for a perfect night sleep every night."

"We have stayed at the California twice and both times have been pleased; the restaurant staff are friendly and the food is good, and the casino staff are helpful and ready to have a quick chat. Check-in was quick and professional. The hotel has a great location, it's close to Fremont and the bus stop, and you can walk to the outlet mall or take a short taxi ride. "It was an ok hotel. The room was actually nicer than I had expected, however, the air conditioning did not work that well and the mini fridge they give you in the room is only really good for keeping a few drinks. Would be nice if they could just make it a little bigger. Also, I questioned when was the last time that they actually cleaned the floor in the bathroom? Heads up, housekeeping closes at 9 pm and it's like pulling teeth to get them to bring you extra stuff for your room."
