"Really great place! I have stayed in other hotels on/near Fremont and their history shows in lack of updates. This hotel was totally different. We had a great room, with a great view. They even had a white noise machine in the room which made for a perfect night sleep every night."

"We have stayed at the California twice and both times have been pleased; the restaurant staff are friendly and the food is good, and the casino staff are helpful and ready to have a quick chat. Check-in was quick and professional. The hotel has a great location, it's close to Fremont and the bus stop, and you can walk to the outlet mall or take a short taxi ride. My only 'please do better' comment would be cleanliness. The elevator looked like it had never been vacuumed, the same toothpicks and...

"It was an ok hotel. The room was actually nicer than I had expected, however, the air conditioning did not work that well and the mini fridge they give you in the room is only really good for keeping a few drinks. Would be nice if they could just make it a little bigger. Also, I questioned when was the last time that they actually cleaned the floor in the bathroom? Heads up, housekeeping closes at 9 pm and it's like pulling teeth to get them to bring you extra stuff for your room."
