"Hotel and grounds have definitely not been updated in a very long time. The pics are probably from when the hotel opened and are not accurate at this time. Found someone’s night cap behind the bedside table and small ants in the room. Staff was very nice and had an enjoyable time in the bar area. Excellent seafood quesadillas!"

"My wife and I vacationed at Grand Isle Resort and Residences in August of 2024. The one-bedroom villa was nicely appointed and was roomy. The full kitchen included all the the utensils and tools needed to cook meals. There were large windows in the living room and bedrooms that allowed plentiful natural light. "This property is amazing! It is completely unique and so relaxing! We stayed in a raised hut. The view was gorgeous! It simply cannot be beat! The resort is so cool- it’s rich with music history and it’s decorated in Bahamian style with porches overlooking the sea. We loved it! The staff was very friendly and helpful. "Most of Grand Lucayan is closed from hurricane Mathew but you don't know this until you arrive. All guests have to stay at Lighthouse point which is nice but with not nearly as many amenities. 2 less pools , less convenient dining options, the Casino never reopened. Some of the staff, outdoor bar. Towel hut, seemed to have lost that happy, helpful, attitude, one bartender was even rude everyday.
