"Great stay#wouldn’t mind coming back"

"We returned to this area of Tulum after our stay at one of the sister hotels, Mereva, last year. The area is quiet and more private than the busy Tulum strip which we prefer. Nerea is a bit more lively than Mereva. We stayed in an oceanfront room in April. If you want to avoid seaweed best to come before April or after September. The weather was perfect. Staff is great. It’s safe, the food is wonderful. Great pool and lounging options. Only thing I’d say as constructive criticism is the beach area was a bit neglected - it didn’t get raked in the morning like they did at Mereva, and staff didn’t seem to be picking up finished beer bottles, cups as frequently as I would have liked. There could have been a bit more maintenance too like weeding around the beach. Would make a big difference. Overall this is a great hotel, great location, great staff and great food and I’d recommend. Would also recommend the Tucan Kin shuttle from the airport and the Tulum ruins / snorkel tour with the included lunch option - it was top notch. "

"Beautiful beachfront location. The staff was very helpful and attentive. The room is big and bed is comfortable . The cleaning staff was very helpful. The breakfast had plenty of choices and all of it was delicious. There is a small convenience store about a 2 min walk from the hotel. They do not sell alcohol, just an FYI . There are different restaurants near by inside the hotels which are open to the public. If you are wanting to go into town I suggest you rent a car or a taxi. There is a Cenote about a 3 minute walk from the hotel. The hotel location was clean and very quiet at night. Everyone at the hotel provided excellent customer service. "

"I recently stayed at Alea Tulum, and overall, it was a delightful experience. Positives: The hotel itself is stunning, with elegant décor and a welcoming atmosphere. My room was impeccably clean and well-maintained throughout my stay. I particularly appreciated the daily replenishment of the minibar, which added a nice touch of convenience and luxury. The standout feature of hotel is undoubtedly the staff. They were the most amazing team I've ever encountered at a hotel. From the warm welcome at check-in to the attentive service throughout my stay, they went above and beyond to ensure my comfort and satisfaction. Negatives: Unfortunately, there were a couple of issues that impacted my experience. On the first night, there was no electricity in the area, they have a generated so we could use the basic things, but not the A/C in the room. While the staff were prompt and professional in addressing the situation, it was an inconvenience after a long day of travel. Additionally, while the breakfast offered a fantastic selection of delicious options, the service was quite slow. It took much longer than expected to receive my meal, which was a bit frustrating, especially on mornings when I had a tight schedule. Overall, despite the initial hiccup with the electricity and the slow breakfast service, my stay at was amazing. The clean and comfortable room and exceptional staff made for an made for an enjoyable visit. I would recommend this hotel "

"THIS PLACE IS AMAZING!!! The location (right on the beach), the amenities (kayaks/paddle boards/life jackets/etc.), and especially the staff (Yobany and Edith) who are the nicest people AND amazing chefs....make this place A+++. The rooms (and beds) are comfortable, the kitchen is comprehensive, there are so many fun things for adults/kids to do. Thank you for an amazing time!! Our family will cherish this vacation for years to come."

"My family just returned from a week-long vacation at the Mereva and it was absolutely fabulous. The staff were super friendly, attentive and incredibly helpful. The included breakfast was heavenly and generous — from the lattes to the fruit bowls to the myriad ways to order your eggs. The property itself offers a beautiful, secluded boutique resort experience — exactly we wanted. The beds were comfortable, the view from our room was spectacular. I can’t recommend this place enough. The restaurant at the Mereva’s sister property Alea might just be my new favorite place to eat in the world. "

"Chef and caretaker team couldn't be better. Chef is very talented and everyone was so nice and accommodating. The house is clean and well kept, however the beach wasn't really usable without water shoes which was tricky with young children. The pool was also quite cold which is common in the area i think (not heated). But the views are amazing and everyone really enjoyed the rooftop hot tub. Just be careful because the floors inside and outdoors were extremely slippery when wet. We'd definitely stay again if just adults!"

"We had such an amazing time at casa cavu. We spent most of our time relaxing on the beach, in the pool or on the nearby piers with hammocks. There are TONS of amazing sea shells and coral washed up on shore, if you love looking for shells, this will be perfect. The house was spotless, and the location feels secluded and private. The conditions for snorkeling were terrible because of the weather, so we didn’t get to do that, but if the weather was nicer, it would be a snorkeling paradise, the reef is right off the shore! We highly recommend letting isario (the caretaker) cook for you. He is an amazing chef. Him and his wife will give you a full service dining right in the house. Don’t miss out on his cooking! Our favorite was his tortilla soup, grilled fish and shrimp. Roccoio(?) the other caretaker kept the house SPOTLESS. She even mopped the floors every day. They take amazing care of the property. They even pick up the seaweed every morning. The dog, Lukey, was absolutely adorable and very well behaved. We really enjoyed having the dog around and he really completed our stay. He is just precious!"
