Sunset Kisses for the Win: 4 Spots to Sneak an Instagram-worthy Smooch

PDAs – Public Displays of Affection – aren’t usually at the top of my list when it comes to reasons to visit a destination but there is no denying that there are some places in the world where a good old fashioned lip lock is called for. Key to finding those spots? Knowing where you’ll feel romantic, have a beautiful backdrop and want to share kisses with your partner. These five spots perfectly fit the bill. Have others you’d add? Share them in the comments!

Theres something about  a volcano – even one that has been extinct for a while –  that gets the heart racing.  Whether you want to lay out on Waikiki beach with your love or  seek out the spray from Manoa Falls, you’re bound to find dozens of spots for kisses. Photos in  front of the Diamond Head crater or on the trails of Kapiolani park will be memory makers.  For an altogether different kind of photo take a scuba or snorkelling trip for a snap with some underwater friends. And when you’re not smooching don’t miss stops like Disney’s Aulani resort and the Ala Moana Center.

It’s the city of love! Holding hands is almost a law here and tender pecks as you explore the Champs Elysee are expected. When it comes to the spot for the iconic shot seek out one of the small bridges near the Eiffel Tower, the glass pyramid in front of the Louvre or the famous love lock bridge. Looking for something less “been there done that?” Snap a selfie in front of a cute bakery window or  while on a picnic in Luxembourg park. A fresh baguette is never a fifth wheel.

New York City, New York

From the moment Meg Ryan and Tom Hanks seal their romantic fate in Sleepless in Seattle the world was dying to recreate the scene at the Empire State Building. High above the city you’ll feel like you’re in a world of your own and have that gorgeous night sky behind your kisses. Prefer something a little closer to the ground? Seek out the LOVE sign in midtown, grab a selfie in Times Square or head out on a tour of Ellis Island.  The Statue of Liberty is the ultimate photobomb.

Deserts were made for snuggling!  Cool nights call for shared blankets in front of cozy fires. Whether you opt for kisses outside under the stars or in your swanky hotel, you’ll find that nothing spurs romance quite like body heat.  Keep love alive with a couples massage at the spa, a private dinner for two and a request for champagne and roses at turndown.
