The Best Walt Disney World Attractions for Teens
Walt Disney World is one of those vacation destinations that is truly perfect for the entire family, and for any age.
Unfortunately, there is an age where kids just want to be seen with their parents less and less. For some, heading to Disney World with teens in tow can be a frustrating experience. We want that family time together during our vacations, yet teens want to leave the pack.
My solution is to incorporate lots of teen-enticing plans to your days at Walt Disney World. Not only will it keep them happy while on vacation, yet they will likely give you a little more time spent with them, without argument or them feeling embarrassed.
So, how do you work your way through teen angst with some fun times at Walt Disney World this year?
Here are some of the Best Walt Disney World Attractions For Teens.
Splash Mountain: Combine a water ride with a roller coaster and you have this infamous ride that everyone loves. While the coaster part of this ride isn’t terribly rough, the final plunge is pretty high and not for the faint of heart. Ride through and watch all the fun animatronics along the way while you wait for the triumphant exit and plunge to the bottom at the end of the Splash Mountain ride. You’re not taking one for the team on this one, adults, it’s a ride you’ll want to go on yourself – time and again. Even younger kids as well, making it fun for the entire family.
Space Mountain: This famous indoor space flight themed roller coaster is the biggest hit in the park. While it does offer the thrills and spills of most traditional roller coasters, the fun space themed indoor twist makes it truly unique for most riders. This one might not be for the younger kids, but your teens will get in line over and over again.
Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith: To a teen, you combine a exhilarating theme park ride with loud, rocking tunes and you have a winner. Suggest heading over to the Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith. This 60 mile per hour ride takes you on 3 inversions, 2 rollover loops and one corkscrew at fast speeds. Your teen will want to ride, so the only question that remains is – are you brave enough to go with them?
Captain Jack Sparrow’s Pirate Tutorial: Have you always wanted to be a real pirate? Check out this fun tutorial with hands on pirate training for the Captain and his crew. Great for killing time, or creating fun memories with your kids and teens while you wait to go on to other rides.
Pirates Of The Caribbean: A classic! Ride through this fun indoor ride while you watch Captain Jack Sparrow and his crew raid treasure left and right. The basis for the popular movie series is full of twists and turns and sure to leave everyone wanting more! This ride has a high dose of what true pirating was all about, something for all the senses.
The Haunted Mansion: Everyone loves a haunted house and the haunted mansion is a great interactive ride everyone will love. If you go near Halloween, you’ll see your favourite characters from Nightmare Before Christmas throughout and within the park. Yet, any time of the year brings fun scares and thrills, yet completely safe for even the youngsters in your crew. It might be intimidating for the younger ones, but one time and even they’ll be hooked!
Visiting Walt Disney World with your family this year can not only be a ton of fun, but a great way to reach out and get through to that teen that wants nothing to do with their family on a typical day.
If you are going with teens, grab a map and plot your course through the park, making sure to include something fun for everyone in your group! Also remember that teens love treats too, so make sure to stop for a snack or drink along the way. Don’t forget the Dole Whip!
