Overview

Through this experience you will be able to visit a traditional market in the city of Porto where you will have an introduction to the customs and traditions of the local inhabitants.

After visiting the Market, time to head to our space located at Rua do Pilar 80, Vila Nova de Gaia, to prepare a typical Portuguese meal, where cod cannot be missing. Participation in the making is optional, however encouraged.

As the Portuguese love it, after the meal is ready it's time to sit down at the table and enjoy the food, local wine and most importantly, the company.

Activity itinerary

Visit the most authentic municipal market in the city, where the guide will introduce it to the influence of Portuguese products worldwide while experiencing the traditional environment of one of the most important buildings for the city's population. On a 5 minute metro trip, passing the upper level of the iconic "Luis I" bridge we we will reach "Jardim do Morro ", with one of the best views about the city of Porto. From there it is less than 5 minutes walk to our kitchen space. Then you will learn how to cook the Portuguese traditional meal. We encourage our guests to help, but if you just want to watch, enjoy the meal and the conversation it's perfectly fine. In this experience, the host will alternatively give participants the opportunity to participate in the different stages of making the dishes. If you want to participate in all stages of the making, please contact us for a private session. Food you will have during the tour: - Olives, lupines, grilled sausage, Alheira with marmalade mayonnaise, Cod dish, Pastel de Nata. The food provided during the tour is not suitable for vegetarians and lactose intolerant. The tour starts at the scheduled time, with no exceptions.
