Description

Experience a climb that's at once both safe and thrilling. Scale Banff's picturesque Mount Norquay along via ferrata's (Italian for “iron roads”), using fixed anchors, cables, and ladders. When finished, relax and enjoy a selection of craft brews and delicious wines at the Cliff House Bistro.

After a safety and equipment briefing from your certified guide, take a quick but scenic open chairlift ride to the Cliff House. Then take your choices of routes to experience a mountain adventure usually reserved for expert climbers.

Explorer Route (2.5 hours): With your certified guide, scale the cliffs above the Banff Mount Norquay ski area. Climb 2 exhilarating pitches to enjoy breathtaking views of the valley below. Walk along a suspension bridge and traverse back down the mountainside, using the fixed cables and ladders along the route.

Ridgewalker Route (4 hours): With your guide, head up the Explorer Route. Then separate and transition to Norquay's ridge, approximately 7,710 feet (2,350 m) above sea level. Walk along the ridge and experience unparalleled views of the jagged terrain below. Climb back down, cross the suspension bridge, and end where you began.

Summiteer Route (6 hours): The pinnacle Via Ferrata route, taking you up to 2,450 metres above sea level. You'll traverse the alpine ridge, crossing an impressive couloir on a 3-wire suspension bridge to reach the summit pitch. Includes an alpine lunch and apres-climbing platter and drink.
