What you can expect

Terceira offers a varied range of hiking options, from the forested hills in the centre to the lava fields along the north coast. The rural centre of the island is fun for hiking too, with the 1,000-meter-high volcano of Lagoa Negra being covered in forests.

Like the other Azores, there are many birds, flowers, and exotic plants in this region. These are all enchanting, even those which are not endemic to these islands.
