What you can expect

Meet your tour guide at your hotel main lobby/pickup point on the morning of the tour. After checking your voucher (printed or electronic) to verify names you will be seated in a comfortable van with AC pumping. Be sure to have your cameras ready for this authentic, amazing one in a lifetime Jamaican experience. Our tour guides are trained professionals who love to interact with our customers so, feel free to ask all the questions you have whether it be Jamaican history, Jamaica's political system, culture, etc.

By now, you are on your way. Your tour guide will take you to small farming villages in the mountains where most of the people living there are everyday farmers. Feel free to interact with the locals - Jamaicans are excellent hosts, we love to welcome visitors. You will see and learn a lot about our local fruit trees such as banana, coffee, ackee, cashew, plantains, sugar cane, nutmeg, turmeric growing by the side of the roads, etc. The local fruit stands are abundant and stocked with delicious organic fruits so please purchase as much as you like - there are several different kinds of avocados, pineapples, coconuts, etc. to choose from.

The second half of the tour will see us heading city centre Montego Bay. The first stop will be at Sam Sharp Square. There you will see, take photos and indulge in the history lesson about our National hero Sam Sharp who was hang in Montego Bay in 1832. The tour takes you to the St., James Parish Church which was constructed in 1775 (243 years) and still fully functional. There is a resident tour guide who is also the caretaker for the church who will tell you all the history and operations of the church - feel free to ask lots of questions. There is no admission fee to visit the church but if you feel so to do please leave a donation. A donation is to the customer's discretion. From the church, you will head up to Richmond Hill Great House, which is located on top of a hill in the centre of town. From there you get a panoramic view of the entire city. This Great house constructed in 1804, was once owned by John Dewars (owner of the Dewars Scotch). There is a small contribution to enter the Great House. The customer will pay upon entering.

After the Great House visit it will be time for lunch at one of our authentic local restaurants and then shopping (extra cost to the customer). Then it will be time to take you back to your hotel/pickup point.

Duration is approx. 4 1/2to 5hrs.
