  • During the monsoon season between June till September, tours of the Elephanta Caves will be subject to weather conditions permitting. Tour will not operate under rainy conditions or during high tide. Alternative tour to Kanheri caves will be provided.
  • Pickup is included from most centrally located hotels at Mumbai Centre; if your hotel falls outside this area you may need to pay a supplement for hotel pickup. You will be informed of any supplement when you call to confirm your reservation after booking.
  • Please be ready and waiting in your hotel lobby 15 minutes prior to your scheduled pick-up time.

What you can expect

Pick up by 0800 Hrs for half day excursion of Elephanta Caves.Transfer to board the ferry from Gateway of India, approximately after 01 hour cruise -09 kms by sea from the Gateway of India, are the Elephanta Caves,which are characterised by rock temples carved out of two hills that emerge from the Centre of the island. It is said that the Portuguese named this island after the stone elephant they found here. Witness cave shrine to Lord Shiva, which belongs to the sixth century, and a massive three-headed sculpture representing Brahma the creator, Vishnu the preserver, and Shiva the destroyer. After lunch, visit the Gateway of India, Mumbai’s principal landmark. This arch of yellow basalt was erected on the waterfront in 1924 to commemorate King George V’s visit to this colony in 1911. Afghan Church built in memory of those who fell in the First Afghan War. Drive past the Bombay High Court built in Gothic style and the Old secretariat. The ornamental university building with its 280 ft. high Rajabhai Clock Tower, the ornate Victoria Terminus, colourful Crawford Market, the Flora Fountain in the large bustling square at the heart of city.Prince of Wales Museum which houses a varied collection of China-ware, miniature paintings & sculpture. Drive along the Marine Drive which is known as the Queen’s Necklace. View Muslim Shrine, Haji Ali & visit Mani Bhawan where Mahatma Gandhi stayed during Mumbai visits. After visits, drive back to hotel in Mumbai
