Description

This memorable day trip from Paris to Normandy takes you to the heart of the history of World War II. Choose a large or small group visit and we’ll take care of the transport and finer details so you can concentrate on your pilgrimage. Pause to reflect at Omaha Beach, look out over the remains of the artificial harbour at Arromanches, drive along Juno and Gold Beaches, and honour the soldiers’ sacrifices at the American Cemetery and Memorial Museum. Your tour includes a professional guide, who’ll help you to understand the difficulties the Allied soldiers faced and why these sites still mean so much, as well as a scenic lunch at the Caen Memorial. Start your day with a drive through Normandy’s picturesque landscapes to the coast. Relive the drama of WWII and the D-Day landings at the magnificent Memorial Museum then take lunch before heading to Pointe du Hoc, the German defence base that was captured by the Liberation forces. Next, pay homage to the 10,000 fallen soldiers who were laid to rest at the American Cemetery overlooking Omaha Beach. You’ll have time to walk along this legendary beach, enjoy the views over the ocean, and hear the poignant stories of the military operation at the Visitor Center. Afterwards, you’ll explore Juno Beach, site of the Canadian Memorial and the remnants of the Arromanches, the artificial port built by the Allies in just 15 days. At the end of this remarkable day, you’ll return to your coach for your drive back to Paris.

I thought the tour was really good, I just wish there was more time to spend at the beaches. Some of the beaches we spent maybe 15 minutes but the museum we were there for over an hour (before lunch) and there wasn’t that much to see. I think that’s just because of the location they chose for lunch... you wouldn’t be able to reverse the order. You have to get up around 5:30 to be there for 6:30 and no places open for breakfast until 7 (even our hotel was 7am) so you also don’t want to push back eating lunch. Otherwise, the tour was informational and it was beautiful weather.

This tour was well worth the price to take a step back 75 years and visit the beaches at the allied troops landed on it actually takes your breath away I did this trip and honour of my father was the first way became on the beaches at Normandy on D-Day he was American army he described his best he could what that day was like and then all accounts he was very accurate the Rangers took a beating that day the point is unbelievable to think how those young men in the dark with the water as rough as it is trying to scale that mountain that was over 100 tool to go to Omaha Beach to the cemetery and see all those white crosses and all his wives giving up for our country and for peace in this world and I think today that we are just so cavalier about the peace and they fart more went to the museum it was just the most awesome experience in the people in Normandy or so Humble they are so grateful and so welcoming I highly recommend this to everyone
