Sit back and relax as we escape deep into the countryside. We will take you back in time to the seat of the High Kings of Ireland at the Hill of Tara.

Our first stop of the day is in the small picturesque fishing village of Howth. We drive through Howth Summit where you can appreciate spectacular views looking out over Dublin Bay. Let the fresh sea breeze invigorate you before we head to the countryside.

Continuing to Newgrange, this magnificent UNESCO World Heritage site is dated 3,200BC and is one of the oldest and largest Neolithic burial chambers in Europe predating the Egyptian pyramids! Older than Stonehenge, for 5,000 years the ancient megalithic tomb at Newgrange has housed the remains of Stone Age ‘aristocracy’, sheltering the spirits of the long dead from the outside world. As part of your experience, you will be taken on a guided tour inside the tomb of Newgrange. We are one of the few companies who can provide you with this unique experience.

The Hill of Tara was once the ancient capital of Ireland. It was here that the King of Ireland was decided. Legend says that stone called the Lia Fail cried out when the true King touched the stone. Why not visit the Hill and touch the stone and see if it cries out!

Even with it dumping buckets of rain, our driver Eoin made the whole day enjoyable. Each stop was amazing history and our driver had jokes, history tidbits and other fun things to keep us entertained. I would definitely do a bus day trip with him again!

The bus was too small so we had to wait 45 minutes before a larger bus arrived. The bus driver's microphone didn't work well so we could barely hear him. We were rushed from stop to stop preventing us from truly enjoying the trip.

The tour guide was very informative in regards to Irish history and the history of Newgrange and Hill of Tara. The guides were timely and helpful.
