by Maligne Adventures Duration 3h Free cancellation available No booking or credit card fees
per adult Price is C$74

Marvel at the majestic beauty of winter in all its glory as you trek across the frozen landscape of Jasper National Park’s Maligne Canyon, gazing up at 30 m (100-foot) tall ice waterfalls and weaving through a maze of natural ice formations.

After being picked up from your hotel, head towards Maligne Canyon in Jasper National Park – this breathtaking setting is home to frozen waterfalls, ice caves and magical ice formations. Learn about the natural history of the region and its extensive above-ground and subterranean waterways, then strap on your ice cleats and start your adventure.

Wind through the silent, frozen canyon, gaze at the paralysed ice falls that were frozen solid mid-cascade, and peer down 51 metres (167 feet) into its depths. Pass by frosted limestone caverns and stand at the entrance to a network of icy caves, even crossing over a frozen river before returning to your hotel.

First of all, the staff are super friendly and knowlegdable!! We had Erwin as our guide and he was very knowledgable and laid back! The hike itself was ok. Not super exciting like the other reviews had said. Unfortunately, we had our trip booked on a day where the temperatures were too warm and the river and the falls were too dangerous to walk in some areas of the canyon. The company did refund us some money. But the hike was definitely not worth $63 which is what it was after the refund. I would say that you can do this hike yourself if you are adventurous. Just follow the trail, get some ice cleats and save the $75.
