What you can expect

Get a look at the inner life of this astronomical clock, a masterpiece of technology and engineering dating back to the 15th century. Discover how, true to the Renaissance spirit, beauty and functionality go hand in hand in this landmark on Piazza San Marco and enjoy admission to 3 museums.

After meeting your knowledgeable guide, climb the small flight of stone steps leading up to a little room where you learn about the history of the Clock Tower. Here, get a chance to see the network of pulleys, weights, and counterweights as they silently rise and fall at regular intervals. Next, climb the beautiful wrought iron spiral staircase towards the complex workings of the clock proper.

Get a closer view of the mechanism—and the gears linking it with the south and north clock faces overlooking St. Mark’s Square—as well as the labyrinth of little streets of the Mercerie. After admiring the inner workings and beautiful architecture, continue exploring on your own with your ticket which includes admission to the Museo Correr, the National Archaeological Museum, and the State Rooms of the Biblioteca Marciana.
