Description

Galveston Island

Stroll along wave-riddled seawalls, spot dolphins in the Gulf of Mexico, and explore historic landmarks scattered around the shores of Galveston Island. Paired with a fun-filled hop-on hop-off tour of Houston, this guided tour is an ideal way to explore the southeast sights of the Lone Star State.

Begin your day popping around Houston on a double decker bus, checking out local landmarks including the Heritage park and historic homes or visiting the marine creatures at the renowned Downtown Aquarium. With amazing views around the city, this hop-on excursion lets you explore. Once you've seen the sights, wind your way back to the HCT Visitors Center to board a bus to the sun-soaked shores of Galveston Island.

When you arrive, make your way to the Galveston Seawall for breathtaking views of the Gulf of Mexico, and then follow your guide to the marina for a boat ride to spot the spirited antics of bottle nose dolphins. After your aquatic adventure, head downtown to grab lunch at one of the local cafes, do some window shopping in the Strand Historic District, or investigate the incredible architecture of the Bishop's Palace before you meet back up with your ride and return to Houston.

The tour was cancelled due to weather. We certainly understood and opted for a combination of the city tour and NASA tour instead. NASA was amazing; the city tour was disappointing. Our drivers were great. However, I have taken similar tours in other cities. This is by far the most disorganized, poorly run tour company I have ever been around. Bathrooms were inadequate with lock on one door broken. Concessions were poorly staffed; coffee machine was broken. There was no one staffing the concession area. There was only one person checking people in. When we arrived back at Houston City Tours at the end of the day, we were 15 minutes before the tour was to have ended. We were told the office would only be unlocked long enough to use the bathroom— requringbuus to walk to a nearby restaurant and wait for our ride. This is not how you treat customers!

It was way over priced for what we saw. Only spent 1 hour in Galveston after a one hour bus ride to get there . Very disappointing
