Spend a full day exploring the cultural riches of Ecuador on this tour of Quito city and Mitad del Mundo. In a small group, venture through the UNESCO-listed historic centre of Quito, seeing the sights, and straddle the equator at Mitad del Mundo.

Start your tour by heading to the Basilica Church in Quito's historic centre in a group of no more than 8. A UNESCO World Heritage Site, the colonial centre of Quito is home to many well-preserved buildings and plazas. After the La Compañia Church, stop at the Independence Plaza to admire the impressive Government's Palace and continue on to San Francisco's Church, which dates back to the 17th century. In the afternoon, make your way to Mitad del Mundo, the centre of the world. Straddle the equatorial line with one foot in each hemisphere, and visit the Intiñan Museum to participate in experiments that can only be conducted at the equator.
