Description

The East End Eco & Cultural Experience includes three high demand stops, along with a drive through our shoreline indigenous communities along the way. This involves stopping to chat briefly with locals in the community. With this tour you will visit:
Garden of The Groves - A beautifully designed, tranquil botanical garden park that features the flora and fauna of The Bahamas. Here is where you will learn the history of Freeport City and its development.
Ol'e Freetown Farm - A quaint little farm, home to a variety of farm animals and native fruits & vegetables. Popular for its fresh pressed sugarcane juice and fresh coconut water.
**Lucayan National Park - An awesome natural park that boasts of having seven of the island's eco systems in one location. Two key features that are totally intriguing - the largest underwater cave system in the world, and miles of white sandy shores of Gold Rock Beach at low tide. (Come prepared to take a dip!)

Your experience begins with an interesting drive to the farthest stop, Lucayan National Park, where you'll enjoy a moderate hike through the rocky terrained pine forest for a view of Ben's Cave and Burial Mound Cave. Herbal vegetation and local berries will be pointed out, and even sampled, along the way. Next we hike across the street, along the wooden path through the mangroves, and become mesmerised as the sandy woodlands emerges on to the spectacular shores of Gold Rock Beach! Once you've had your fill of sun, sand and sea, we will drive about 5 mins further east to the “Welcome to East End” sign for a photo opp. We then head west to Ol'e Freetown Farm, to visit Mr. & Mrs. Johnson and the farm animals. After a refreshing drink of sugarcane juice or fresh coconut water, we continue west to our third stop, Garden of The Groves. Following a walk through the garden park with the entertaining story of Freeport City's development, shopping for treasures at The Garden Shoppes, and visiting the spot in the garden where my wedding was held, we continue our westerly drive to a local restaurant in one of our intriguing indigenous communities overlooking the ocean. Here, you will tantalise your taste buds with your choice of a scrumptious native cuisine. With a day full of activities and new friends for life, we head back to the drop off point where we say “farewell” until your next visit.
