What you can expect
Spend a day enjoying Chile’s coastal sights and beaches as you watch for birds at the El Peral Lagoon, admire the home of poet Pablo Neruda, drive through rolling vineyards of the Casablanca Valley and relax near the waves in the Pacific resort town of Viña del Mar.
After being picked up from your hotel, make your way through the nature reserve of El Peral Lagoon to oceanfront Isla Negra and the whimsical home of Nobel Prize-winning poet Pablo Neruda. Explore the home’s intriguing architecture, check out Neruda’s collections and possessions, and take a moment to ponder the rocky, seaside landscape that inspired many of Neruda’s most celebrated works.
From there, ride through the rolling, mountain-framed vineyards of the Casablanca Valley, a relatively new wine-growing region that produces some of the country’s best varietals. Arrive at beautiful, beach front Viña del Mar, known as “The Garden City.” Its sprawling parks, stretches of white sand, and wide, palm-shaded avenues offer plenty of beachy ambiance to enjoy. Stroll along ocean-front promenades, grab a bite to eat if you want and enjoy with your toes in the sand.
