Depart the port from your cruise ship for a harbour-side drive into the city, with an introduction to the city and attractions Hear commentary detailing Dunedin’s history as you motor around the hilly city, which overlooks the Otago Peninsula. Pass by Baldwin Street, considered the world's steepest street, and get a glimpse of the harbour. View the University of Otago, the neoclassical Dunedin Town Hall and Renaissance Revival–style Dunedin Railway Station as well as opulent banks, theatres and 19th-century edifices.
Arrive at Olveston House, and take a guided tour of the estate's global collection of magnificent treasures.
Board a train and travel along the rugged coastline, passing through Dunedin's harbour-side suburbs, followed by views of Port Chalmers and Careys Bay. From the cliff tops, admire spectacular views overlooking the Pacific Ocean and Blue Skin Bay, taking advantage of the many amazing photo opportunities.
The train will drop you back near the historic church in the Port Chalmers township. A short 10 minute walk back to the Port Visitor Centre, via the vibrant Port Chalmers village with a wide range of art & culture from potters and sculptors to painters, musicians, jewellers and fashion designers.
