An unforgettable 3-day adventure travelling from Edinburgh to Inverness through the incredible sights of the Highlands and the wonderful 'Misty Isle'.
Day 1
Your tour begins at Edinburgh Lawnmarket through the city towards the mystical Highlands. Pass by Linlithgow Palace, the Kelpies, Stirling Castle and the Wallace Monument. We stop at Doune Castle to visit this iconic fortress featured in Outlander to then see the Trossachs National Park. We venture to castles and waterfalls, ancient ruins, Viking monuments, Lochs, and Glens, stopping at the most beautiful places and meeting the beautiful Highland wildlife as we go. We continue to the Valley of Glencoe and the Three Sisters, as your journey through Fort William to the Glenfinnan Viaduct, now the world-famous Harry Potter bridge. From here to the Loch Ness, full of myth, wonder and mystery, to the fabulous ruins of Urquhart Castle and finally on to the beautiful city of Inverness, capital of the Highlands.
Day 2
Your second day takes us north from Inverness, through the Black Isle and west out towards the 'Misty Isle' of Skye. Cross over the Sligachan Bridge and on to Portree, the beautiful fishing village and capital of this magical island. Amongst incredible and breath-taking scenery, we journey to the greatest sights of Skye; the Old Man of Storr, the Quiraing, the Trotternish Peninsula and the Fairy Glen, an incredible landscape of peaks, valleys and geological formations. Finally, we stop at the unbelievable Eilean Donan Castle, which guarded the Highlands against Viking raiders for centuries. Pass by Glen Shiel and the Peak of the Spaniards on the way back to Loch Ness and on towards our base of Inverness for an evening of fun and relaxation.
Day 3
From Inverness, your journey takes you to Culloden Moor, the wonderfully preserved battlefield where Bonnie Prince Charlie fought the last great battle ever fought in the UK. Tour the battlefield and move on to the incredible Bronze Age structures and monuments of the Clava Cairns. With a full day ahead, we take you through Aviemore towards the Dalwhinnie Whisky Distillery, the highest distillery in the UK. We journey towards Pitlochry for lunch. A beautiful Victorian town frozen in time that offers an incredible array of refreshments and the most famous locally made Whisky Ice Cream. Ready once more for adventure, we travel to the Hermitage for an unforgettable woodland walk.
