The magic, the busy vibe, and the endless options of things to do &#8211; I can\u2019t think of a better place to vacation and can\u2019t wait to do so once possible again!<\/p>\n<p>We\u2019re excited to partner with Expedia to share our ultimate guide to Los Angeles, so you can book the perfect adventure for the future &#8211; without having to do all the research on where to stay, eat, and play.<\/p>\n<p>Expedia is the ideal travel companion for all your travel needs &#8211; both trip planning and trip taking! Expedia helps travellers take control of every aspect of their trip, with everything in one place so booking is an absolute breeze.<\/p>\n<p>Okay, now, let\u2019s get to LA!<\/p>\n<p><strong>WHERE TO STAY<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Having a relaxing place to call home during your vacations is key &#8211; it\u2019s where you\u2019ll rest up for long days of adventures, or, if you\u2019re like us, sneak back to during the day for a happy hour drink and little re-charge. We like to pick a couple hotels in different areas of the city, so we can be within walking distance of different places we want to see and eat at and explore.<\/p>\n<p>Here\u2019s our two favourites in LA:<\/p>\n<p><em><u><a href=\"https:\/\/www.expedia.ca\/Los-Angeles-Hotels-Kimpton-Everly-Hotel.h17524828.Hotel-Information\">Kimpton Everly<\/a><\/u><\/em><\/p>\n<p>If you like to be in the centre of the action, this is the place to stay. It\u2019s steps away from Hollywood &#8211; and we all know the Walk of Fame is a must for any LA first timer. The Everly also has a rooftop pool &#8211; the perfect place to sip a cocktail after a long day of exploring, if you ask us. We love staying at any of the Kimpton hotels, because they offer a complimentary social hour from 5-6 every evening!<\/p>\n<p><em><u><a href=\"https:\/\/www.expedia.ca\/Los-Angeles-Hotels-Hotel-Figueroa.h8805682.Hotel-Information\">Hotel Figeuroa<\/a> <\/u><\/em><\/p>\n<p>Downtown LA, Hotel Figueroa is not only absolutely stunning in and of itself, but it\u2019s within walking distance to so many shops and restaurants, that you won\u2019t have to walk very far!<\/p>\n<p>It also has a stunning pool &#8211; the only ground level pool in DTLA, a gym, and an in-house Tesla available for guests shuttling.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-18143\" src=\"http:\/\/expedia.blog.ca.local\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/9125079829092885594_IMG_1802-e1622573788361.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1280\" height=\"1920\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>WHERE TO EAT<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Food is probably our favourite word when we\u2019re travelling. With all the walking and exploring, we always work up such an appetite. Not to mention, trying new restaurants is pretty much our biggest hobby!<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong>We discovered these two during our last trip to LA:<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><em><u>E.P &amp; L.P Rooftop &amp; Restaurant<\/u><\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong>Yummy food, a fun atmosphere, and great cocktails? Sign us up. We absolutely loved going for dinner at E.P Restaurant and a drink up on the L.P Rooftop. You won\u2019t be disappointed!<\/p>\n<p><em><u>Gracias Madre<\/u><\/em><\/p>\n<p>If you like Mexican food, you\u2019re in for a real treat here. Gracias Madre is a completely plant-based restaurant in West Hollywood. You will not leave hungry, let me tell you that!<\/p>\n<p><strong>WHERE TO <a href=\"https:\/\/www.expedia.ca\/things-to-do\/search?=Los%20An&amp;endDate=15%2F06%2F2021&amp;filter.categories=&amp;filter.seeAll=&amp;location=Los%20Angeles%20%28and%20vicinity%29%2C%20California%2C%20United%20States%20of%20America&amp;pwaDialog=&amp;rid=178280&amp;slimSearchKeyword=&amp;sort=RECOMMENDED&amp;startDate=01%2F06%2F2021&amp;swp=on\">SIGHTSEE<\/a> (and take fantastic pictures)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em><u>Hike up to Hollywood Sign<\/u><\/em><\/p>\n<p>Get your walking shoes on for this one! Hiking around this iconic spot is a must-do while you\u2019re in LA. Not only is it a beautiful and peaceful area to hike, it\u2019s also a great workout! There\u2019s easier paths, and paths for the more adventurous &#8211; something for every age and ability. We\u2019ve taken several of the trails, and I have to say, the adventurous one is not for the faint of heart!<\/p>\n<p>There\u2019s a tree at the top of Mount Lee &#8211; the mountain the iconic sign is situated on &#8211; called the Wisdom Tree, a lone tree overlooking the beauty of Los Angeles. There\u2019s a trunk beneath the tree, full of papers with wishes written by hikers &#8211; Sam and I both left one there when we went!<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-18147\" src=\"http:\/\/expedia.blog.ca.local\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/8032922728835359848_IMG_1406-e1622574073470.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1280\" height=\"1920\" \/><\/p>\n<p><em><u>Griffith Observatory at sunrise or sunset<\/u><\/em><\/p>\n<p>Make sure your cameras are charged for this one, folks. We absolutely loved taking in the sweeping views of Los Angeles here.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-18146\" src=\"http:\/\/expedia.blog.ca.local\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/los-angeles-10-14-2019-just-because-110_original-scaled.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"3300\" height=\"2200\" \/><\/p>\n<p><em><u>West Hollywood<\/u><\/em><\/p>\n<p>This neighbourhood is perfect for walking around and exploring on a nice day. It\u2019s full of IG-worth spots to take photos, shops, restaurants, and &#8211; a must for us &#8211; it\u2019s super LGBTQ+ friendly!<\/p>\n<p><em><u>A Studio Tour or Bus Tour<\/u><\/em><\/p>\n<p>When in LA, right? This is a must. Seeing where the filming action takes place or driving by celeb\u2019s homes is just an iconic thing to do when you\u2019re in a place known for its stars and filming!<\/p>\n<p><strong>TRAVEL TIPS (for LA and everywhere)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em><u><a href=\"https:\/\/www.expedia.ca\/Cars\">Rent a car<\/a> &#8211; but only for a couple days.<\/u><\/em><\/p>\n<p>LA itself has great transit options &#8211; we usually opt to Uber or walk. However, it\u2019s worth booking a car rental while you\u2019re here, so you can take little day trips to the fantastic spots just outside of the city &#8211; Venice, Malibu, and the OC can all be done in a day trip &#8211; and we\u2019d suggest doing all three!<\/p>\n<p><em><u>Book a refundable or flexible <a href=\"https:\/\/www.expedia.ca\/Hotels\">hotel<\/a>. <\/u><\/em><\/p>\n<p>We like flexibility when we travel, and we almost always end up extending our trips a bit! So, we like to have flexible hotel booking that can accommodate our change of plans with no hassle. You can do this easily on Expedia by <em>using the \u201cfree cancellation\u201d search filter or selecting \u201cbook now, pay later\u201d rates.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-18148\" src=\"http:\/\/expedia.blog.ca.local\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/9043571076974769308_IMG_1502.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1920\" height=\"1280\" \/><\/p>\n<p><em><u>Check on safety.<\/u><\/em><\/p>\n<p>Be sure to take note of the health and hygiene measures hotels are providing.
