Save on Canada Day and summer travel with the new “Last minute booking” filter on the Vrbo app
The early bird isn’t the only one who gets the worm. Today, Vrbo announced Last Minute Deals, giving spontaneous travellers an easy way to save on their next private vacation rental. Last Minute Deals are now live on the Vrbo app and site and show travellers discounted properties available to book within 30 days of check-in.
Nearly 300K Last Minute Deals are now available on Vrbo and finding them is easy with the “Last minute booking” filter—an industry first for vacation rentals. Travellers can use the filter in the Vrbo app to narrow their searches to properties offering deals for their selected travel dates. Discounted rentals are also marked with a “Last minute” badge that displays the total amount travellers can save.

Vrbo introduced Last Minute Deals just in time for peak lake season. With the Canada Day long weekend fast approaching, procrastinators, spontaneous adventurers and budget-conscious families can save hundreds of dollars on lakefront cottages or beachfront condos still available for Canada Day, Labour Day and the remaining weeks of summer in between.
“Canada Day is one of the busiest travel times of the year, but it’s not too late to book a vacation home this summer—even in our most popular destinations,” said Larry Plawsky, General Manager at Vrbo. “Last Minute Deals give families a great way to save on summer getaways, while helping hosts keep their properties booked year-round. It’s a win-win.”
Some of Vrbo’s top Canadia destinations offering Last Minute Deals include:
- Glenbrook, Nova Scotia: This 2-bedroom cottage offers a cozy escape with a Nordic barrel sauna and scenic views. Guests can unwind in rustic comfort just minutes from the coast.
- Lake Country, B.C.: Halfway between Kelowna and Vernon, this lakeview vacation rental in the Okanagan region offers stunning views of the water and is walking distance to wineries and orchards. Travellers can save $135 CAD off on a three-night stay with Vrbo’s Last Minute Deals.
- Ardrossan, A.B.: This quaint rustic cabin outside of Edmonton and near Elk Island National Park makes for an ideal peaceful retreat. Travellers can save 10% off a two-night stay with Vrbo’s Last Minute Deals.
- Lac-Supérieur, Quebec: Travellers can save over $300 CAD on a three-night stay at this charming cottage in the Mont Tremblant area. Equipped with kayaks, paddleboards, and a canoe, guests can easily enjoy private access to Lac Quenouille.
In addition to saving on last-minute bookings, travellers never have to second-guess the total cost—Vrbo displays all mandatory fees upfront. Last month, Vrbo introduced a “No hidden fees” pop-up on the site and app to remind users that the listed price includes all charges.
