Houtskar Island Yoga Vacations

We were so pleased with our stay at the Rio! The rooms (suite) were great. Nice, clean and spacious. Huge 65in tv with comfy bed and couch. The closet with vanity area to get ready was huge. The bathroom was nice with the glass wall shower. Loved that they had four pools with a 21+ only pool that had a dj! The only downside about the pools is that they were freezing, to cold ro enjoy to its fullest. The restaurant that we ate at was great as well (the kitchen table). We ate there for breakfast multiple days. Went to the comedy club there and had a blast. We also went to go see the burlesque show Empire strip back! It was GREAT!!! Classy funny professional and sexy. Everything was great at the Rio. It was our first time staying and we will be going back!

A coffee maker or complimentary coffee would have been nice.

Fantastic boutique hotel in the heart of Santa Monica, beautiful views and great attention to detail. Fantastic staff. Nice pool, family friendly.

If I could give this place zero stars I would. First, it was very hard to find the location because there is construction outside. When I finally found the place, there was one person at the desk who was extremely rude and condescending. She made fun of the way I spoke (mimicked me). I was in shock. I had already prepaid for the hotel so I didn't know what to do. I figured I would let it go since it's one night. I asked about parking - she said can't give me parking until I checked in. So I checked in and then after I paid for parking - she said she didn't have anymore key cards to the parking garage. She told me that every time I would need to go in or out of the garage I would need to come into the hotel and tell them and they would meet me at the garage (!) I asked politely how does this work if there's only one person at the desk. and where do I park to call you to help me with the garage (since there's no parking - only construction - outside the hotel). That set her off in an angry tirade. I was afraid for my safety at this hotel with this person in charge. I called my friend that I was meeting - she came over a few minutes later and I told her what happened. We checked the room - which had an intense chemical odor - can't breath. She refused to let me talk to a manager and refused to refund. It was such a twilight zone experience. STAY AWAY FROM THIS HORRID PLACE.

Tired room but OK. VERY expensive. Everything costs so much. Not value for money. Food in the various eateries is mediocre at best, but costs so much. Would recommend, getting away from the Strip to find restaurants else where, costs as much but much nicer food. Try Hofbrauhaus for an year round Octoberfest vibe. Or our favourite Tamba in Market Square (really good Indian inspired food).

We arrived late and were lucky to head down to Lucille’s bbq. We were basically after they closed but they took our order and made our day! Great food and great staff!

Horrible checkin / checkout... Would never stay there again...Double charged me entire stay and still fighting to get someone to refund 2nd one that is so clearly a duplicate for same stay....

Requested a non smoking room and was given a room that smelled nothing but smoke highly disappointed and it was very noisy couldn’t even sleep I had arrived at this hotel at 1am had to to wake up at 5 am did not get any sleep from all the noise in the hallway.
